His defensive efforts need some serious work.

But is one of the few guys having a crack in the contest and winning the footy. Plenty of guys that need to be dropped before him.
For your captain to only contribute to 50% of the game is disgusting. Talks about players getting dropped if they don't perform. 1 tackle in 98 mins of on the ball game time is indicative of his leadership. Do as I say, not as I do.

Im not saying he doesnt deserve to be singled out. All i am saying is on a scale of players who deserve to be dropped, he isnt that high.

Zaka, BJ, Myers are all bigger candidates to be dropped among senior players imo.

Agreed with all of that, Hurley still escaping the scrutiny that should be headed his way, he has laid 3 tackles in the last 4 rounds.

Yeah/ nah. He is a reasonable captain who is leading a poorly managed side. Not his fault. I reckon Heppell is leaving everything out there but for whatever reason there just isn't any cohesion with his teammates. His disposal was better yesterday which is a good start.

Think we need Heppell to go to the number one inside mid from the opposition and make that his job - Myers gets punished by these guys outside the contest.

Like most of our mids he is an accumulator and lacks any actual hurt factor. Yes he plays with intensity (as you expect as a minimum from the Captain) but what weapons does he posses to hurt the opposition?

Following Jobe was always going to be a tough gig but he’s under the pump any way you look at it.

The kind of player Richmond would make Captain for the last 20 years until Cotchin decided to harden up a bit.

He was actually one of the few that had a crack. Looked like he actually cared unlike some.

He's leadership might be questionable, but on the better side. One of our best yesterday.

I don't have a major issue with him as Captain even though I don't think he is the best choice.

Even though he tries he is not a clearance machine despite the big body.

Should be in the backline IMO. I think his efforts are good but needs to play behind the ball because of his lack of pace.

Heppell to half back, Goddard to wing, Langford in the middle.
