Player Watch #21: Noah Balta - Suspended First 4 Games

23/10/99 I think that makes Balta 25.

I think people would not get so agitated about things like this if they accepted the simple fact that the players in the afl are a reflection of society.
Just like society young people get into trouble. Just like society people have different ways of dealing with people who invade their personal space if that is indeed the case here.

Maybe Noah simply lashed out having lost a bit of control after a few beers after yet another loud mouth had a crack just like in society if having a bad you can lash out.

Give it time we will all find out what happened when he goes to court and we can make an informed judgement then.
Not that its any of my business imo.

Way too many wowsers in society who are usually out of touch with reality. All telling you how you should live your lives.

Bloke was having a go at his brother
Noah tried to stop it
Bloke fired up
Noah went pop
If Noah wasn't the aggressor he'll probably get a harsh telling off and that's it - as long as the damage was just superficial .

Still suspect a find from the AFL at the very least imo

Just going off what Rioli and Bolton copped a few years ago

The AFL aren’t a fan of players getting into physical alterations even if it isn’t the players “fault”

The internet and the 24 hour news cycle is what you have a problem with. With news now having the mentality of "if you're not first you're last" with reporting over getting the facts correct then this type of reactions are what society gets.

I was talking of the law. The AFL will, of course, do something . They seem to be pretty fired up, except if it is Geelong. Strange that, even fairly obvious fraud by Geelong players (e.g. lending money to supporters at exorbitant rates) if all OK

Yep.

If I was a first year player I’d want Balta in my team each week playing alongside me. Bit like Marlion Pickett. They have your back. Good campaigners. Publicly, the club will probably condone it or just let the AFL (woke) do their thing. Internally, practically speaking, Yze and his teammates will back him in.

Richmond has suspended Noah Balta following an off-season incident that has led to him being charged with assault.

Balta will miss the first four matches of the 2025 AFL season.

He will also miss both pre-season matches, complete education programming and undertake counselling.

Balta will continue to train at the Club during this period.

“Noah deeply regrets being involved in the incident. He has assisted the NSW Police in their investigation and he is keen to have the matter concluded as soon as possible. While the outcome of the investigation and the charge will be a matter for the Police and the Courts both Noah and the Club accept that players can't put themselves in these situations,” Richmond CEO Shane Dunne said.

“After thorough consideration - which included discussions with the player leadership group - we arrived at a decision that reflects the seriousness of the incident and at the same time will help Noah address this behaviour.

“The Club will continue to support him through this period and our collective hope, and expectation, is that we will see the best of Noah on and off the field from this point on.”
