So this is my thinking. I am thinking this could be an all encompassing 21st century mock draft. This is we line up every player drafted in the 21st century as an 18 year old, knowing the players they became and we decide who goes where.

For the draft order I am thinking the current ladder

So

Pick 1 - North Melbourne
Pick 2 - Richmond
Pick 3 - West Coast
Pick 4 - Adelaide
Pick 5 - St Kilda
Pick 6 - Brisbane
Pick 7 - Hawthorn
Pick 8 - Western Bulldogs
Pick 9 - Melbourne
Pick 10 - Gold Coast
Pick 11 - GWS
Pick 12 - Fremantle
Pick 13 - Collingwood
Pick 14 - Geelong
Pick 15 - Port Adelaide
Pick 16 - Essendon
Pick 17 - Carlton
Pick 18 - Sydney

and so on for 3 rounds.

The rules are to treat this like an actual mock draft, so pick the player who is either best available or best suits your list.

So my general idea is people will nominate a club they want to pick for, and hopefully we get enough people who want to participate so we don't have any double ups. I hope to go for 3 rounds but we will see how it goes.

Now the rule here is that you are only able to pick players who were drafted in the 2000 draft or later, I know technically 2000 is not the 21st century but these players would have only started playing in 2001 which is the 21st century. I have also made some lists of players who have won the All Australian at least 3 times, but also included some other awards too, but by no means do you only need to select from the list.

You are also free to nominate someone who has been retired for 5 years, or if you feel really confident, happy to include a player who is only in their second year, if you believe they have enough talent to be ahead of more established players. For instance it would not surprise me if Nick Daicos or Harley Reid end up in the first or second rounds despite having very little experience compared to a lot of players on this list.

Carlton Blues have been keeping an eye on their last pick for quite a few years now. He's still young, but is well-proven against the biggest and baddest forwards in the league. Although we know that there will be some unexpected health issues in his future, there will also be widespread acclaim for his tenacity and poise. So to pair with the already brilliant Weitering in the back half, the Blues will bolster their defence with their second pick in a row ... Slammer himself ...

Good picks. TDK to ruck, Gray to a forward pocket (ditch Sandi) is the main change I'd make. Blues would love a dynamic forward/mid with top notch skills.

I was worried Gray wasn't going to get taken! He had periods as both a dynamite midfielder and forward. If he was ever handed the keys to a dominant team, he easily could've had a Martin 2017-2020 type run. That forward line is stacked now, Mitchell is the ultimate midfield conductor and Lake shores up the defence.

Adams ahead of Rowbottom though?! I really like Rowbottom, tackling/pressure machine that balances the midfield out.

Yeah, I wasn't in charge for the first round of picks and I wouldn't have gone with a ruckman, as I think TDK will be a star.
