Which is why we're more stable. You guys might be richer but I'm pretty sure (don't quote me on this) our debt to asset ratio is better.?

Incorrect. Your debt ratio is 57% - ours is 43.9%.

Further to that, your current/liquidity ratio is almost half that of ours (granted, neither is particularly flash).

So - on any true financial measure - your club continues to languish behind us, regardless of what Brayshaw et al would have you believe.

What the **** does 'artificially inflating' mean? There's nothing artificial about it because they're real people with real memberships. Do you expect all 35,000 North Melbourne members to live in Melbourne?

Exactly as it says. These people are not "North Melbourne supporters", as such. They are members purely and simply to enable them to attend the few games a year you are (currently) playing there. So - there will come a time when there's a proverbial fork in the road...they will get their own team, or North will decide to pull the pin (or both). Meaning this extra 5k in membership that magically appeared a couple of years ago will dissipate, and you'll be back where you were. Not a sustainable collect.

That's my bad then.

Can I ask what the WB debt is?

You're ridiculous. I've hemorrhaged money into the club I love for my entire life and you're going to tell me that, because I'm from Tasmania, I'm not a real supporter? Yeah, get ****ed.

Also, don't condescend me like you're a supporter from a club of note. :)

Interesting that you didn't include St Kilda in the ''will they exist'' category
Don't they have alot of debt at the moment?

I'm not implying they will fold or anything, they will be fine just like WB, North and Melbourne.
GWS may be the biggest worry actually.

Not quite certain where you heard that. This is from the 2012 Annual Report:

St Kilda Football Club has announced an operating profit of $631,135 for the financial year ending 31 October 2012. After accounting for depreciation, amortisation and interest the Club made a net loss of $436,818.

CEO Michael Nettlefold was pleased with the result which contrasts with a trading deficit in 2011 of $1,500,772. “We are delighted to report a $2,131,907 turnaround in our financial performance over the past 12 months” he said.

Added to the fact we just inked a deal to play for 5 years in Wellington (which would certainly have been worth significant coin) I'm pretty sure our finances aren't as perilous as rags like the Hun would have you believe.

1. Will Fremantle have won a premiership? Quite probably
2. Will Gold Coast have won a premiership? Yes
3. Will GWS have won a premiership?
4. Will GWS exist? Yes, hopefully with a name change
5. Will North Melbourne exist? Probably, unless shunted off to Perth
6. Will the Western Bulldogs exist? Yes. St Kilda are more doubtful than them, but also will exist
7. Will the Melbourne Demons exist? Yes
8. Will Port Adelaide exist? Yes
9. Will Tasmania have a team in the AFL? Not this century
10. Will Canberra have a team in the AFL? No
11. Will Northern Territory have a team in the AFL? Not by 2022, maybe 30 years after that
12. Will the AFL still be playing games in New Zealand? Probably
13. Will the AFL look to upgrade Docklands Stadium after just taking over ownership? Not capacity, but perhaps in other ways
14. Will Fremantle and West Coast be playing out of a 80,000 seat stadium in Perth? Yes
15. Will the COLA still exist? No, but some other NSW assistance scam will
16. How high will the salary cap be? Who can say. Maybe $12m
17. Predict the top 4 in 2022 - I'll make that prediction if I live to the 2022 pre-season
18. Will there be a national reserves competition? No
19. Will the International Rules series with Ireland still exist? Not every year, but possibly in some form
20. Will the AFL have a form of rep football? If so, what kind? Other than IR, nothing.
21. Will Aussie rules be the dominant code in NSW and/or QLD? No
22. Will Buddy be completing the ninth year of his contract with the Swans? No

1. Will Fremantle have won a premiership? NO (bridesmaids, the window will shut leaving an empty room) Dockers fans will be lamenting the lost opportunities for another decade as West Coast return to being the dominant Perth based outfit. Will we see a 3rd WA team?
2. Will Gold Coast have won a premiership? NO* (could go close, unless they win with both Ablett and O'Meara still playing together by 2016-17?) Sacking McKenna, hiring Eade? A step backwards on the cards.
3. Will GWS have won a premiership? NO (When hell freezes over)
4. Will GWS exist? NO (gone for all money, the AFL will struggle to hold off Soccer in Western Sydney let alone the NRL. The branding is wrong, the name is wrong, the colours are wrong and GWS couldn't attract a mosquito! This could get ugly for the AFL.
5. Will North Melbourne exist? NO* (Either Tassie/Canberra/Nth QLD or bust) It's lineball, the Roos must win a flag within 3 years or face re-location.
* Will St.Kilda exist? NO (Name change and re branding required. Southern Saints? If not it's Tassie or bust) Returning to the Junction Oval is the only thing that will save them.
6. Will the Western Bulldogs exist? YES (Should play at least 6 homes at Simonds, they won't though so Ballarat it is.) Wouldn't surpise me if they became the Ballarat Bulldogs. Trouble looms large at Whitten Oval.
7. Will the Melbourne Demons exist? YES (Somehow they will survive)
8. Will Port Adelaide exist? YES ( Adelaide oval will be a revelation for both teams) Will we see a 3rd SA team? Port have completely upstaged their rivals and the Crows knee jerk reaction was to blame Sanderson. It goes deeper than that.
9. Will Tasmania have a team in the AFL? YES If Either North or Saints don't make it...Tassie could be the answer?
10. Will Canberra have a team in the AFL? NO! Has as much chance as Julia Gillard turning up for Tony Abbott's 65th birthday party!
11. Will Northern Territory have a team in the AFL? NO ( I can see Nth QLD before the Territory) North again?
12. Will the AFL still be playing games in New Zealand? YES (nice place for the newly branded Southern Saints to play 2-3 games a year (10 home games in Hobart and 2 in NZ)
13. Will the AFL look to upgrade Docklands Stadium after just taking over ownership? YES (It needs it now) The stadium is now used for secondary matches, it no longer hosts blockbusters. It plays host to games that don't even attract a quarter full stadium. Etihad is under utilised by the AFL.
14. Will Fremantle and West Coast be playing out of a 80,000 seat stadium in Perth? YES (Inevitable) After what they have seen in Adelaide people in Perth must be getting itchy feet over it.
15. Will the COLA still exist? NO (Coke will...not COLA)
16. How high will the salary cap be? $20 MILLION + maybe more. If Boyd is worth $7million after 9 games then how much is Hawkins or Roughead next contract?
17. Predict the top 4 in 2022 GEELONG, COLLINGWOOD, ADELAIDE, WEST COAST, SOUTHERN TASSIE SAINTS..who knows?
18. Will there be a national reserves competition? YES
19. Will the International Rules series with Ireland still exist? NO (POINTLESS)
20. Will the AFL have a form of rep football? If so, what kind? NO State Of Origin is unworkable in AFL now,Unles it is Vic v SA or WA then forget it, you must have a state v state rivalry for it to work. So where does that leave all the rest? Dream teams and All stars have no empathy with fans. State Of origin now belongs to the NRL.
21. Will Aussie rules be the dominant code in NSW and/or QLD? NO (NRL is firmly entrenched with Soccer being the alternative) AFL will always be the dominant national football code, but inroads into NSW will suffer a major setback with the demise of GWS unless a new direction is taken immediately. If GWS fall over then the AFL have problems, the Essendon saga has done irreparable damage to the code's brand name and standing in Australian sport.
22. Will Buddy be completing the ninth year of his contract with the Swans? NO (good one centurion)
A man's 'original and natural right' to make all contracts that are 'intrinsically obligatory,' and to coerce the fulfillment of them, is one of the most valuable and indispensable of all human possessions. Buddy is there to win the Swans a flag within 3 years, he''ll be toast by 2017 or 18 if he's lucky.

14. Will Fremantle and West Coast be playing out of a 80,000 seat stadium in Perth? Yes
15. Will the COLA still exist? No, but I do see newly merged / moved clubs or struggling clubs allowed more $$$ to keep young talent
16. How high will the salary cap be? $22 Million
17. Predict the top 4 in 2022 - 1. Melbourne Bulldogs, 2. Richmond Tigers, 3. Gold Coast Suns, 4. Adelaide Crows
18. Will there be a national reserves competition? Yes but I believe Box Hill will still be Hawthorns Reserve side
19. Will the International Rules series with Ireland still exist? Not with just Ireland but with NZ, South Africa, America & China.
20. Will the AFL have a form of rep football? If so, what kind? See above, No state rep but stronger AUS rep.
21. Will Aussie rules be the dominant code in NSW and/or QLD? Yes
22. Will Buddy be completing the ninth year of his contract with the Swans? No

As said above, I can see the AFL Teams like this: VIC: Carlton, Collingwood, Essendon, Hawthorn, Richmond & Melbourne Bulldogs, SA: Adelaide & Port Adelaide, WA: West Coast & Fremantle, QLD: Brisbane & Gold Coast, NSW/ACT: Sydney & Canberra Giants, TAS: Tasmania Kangaroos & NZ: New Zealand Saints.

Sadly I also only see out of the VIC Teams that Carlton, Collingwood, Essendon & Richmond playing all their home games in Melbourne. Hawthorn & Melbourne will play half of there home games in places like NT, FN QLD, China & South Africa.

The MCG will only be used to host local big matches: Eg. Collingwood v Essendon, and these matches will be sold out before the season starts.
Eithad and a stadium out the the South East will host all small crowd matches: Eg. Richmond v Canberra Giants.

Remember just my opinon! Hopefully Bigfooty will be around in 2022 so I can see how close I was!!

5. Will North Melbourne exist? Yes, will continue to play games in Hobart though

7. Will the Melbourne Demons exist? Going to say NO to this one, AFL finally decide to end the tradition of the MFC
8. Will Port Adelaide exist? For sure

I find this line of thought interesting, because right now Melbourne are the ones playing in the NT and sponsored by NT travel.

Northern Territory Demons? A merger between the Northern Territory Thunder and the Melbourne Demons? Not exactly the hardest jumpers to fuse together...

If we're going anywhere, I think it'll be a merger or a relocate. Not both.

If we're going anywhere, I think it'll be a merger or a relocate. Not both.

Wouldn't it make sense to merge with an already existing NT team? At least that way the locals can feel like it's actually partially their club rather than a transplanted team. The open markets seem to be Canberra, Darwin and Tasmania. Darwin seems to make the most sense to me from a Demons' perspective. Keep in mind, it's a hypothetical situation where the Demons could no longer afford to be based in Melbourne.

I suppose you could make a case that in 2022 we could have a team in every major city of Australia. The Tasmania Kangaroos, Northern Territory Demons and Canberra Giants.

1. Will Fremantle have won a premiership? Yes, probably next year.
2. Will Gold Coast have won a premiership? Yes, multiple.
3. Will GWS have won a premiership? Yes.
4. Will GWS exist? Yes.
5. Will North Melbourne exist? Yes, though perhaps relocated.
6. Will the Western Bulldogs exist? Yes.
7. Will the Melbourne Demons exist? Definitely.
8. Will Port Adelaide exist? Yes.
9. Will Tasmania have a team in the AFL? Not a new club, but a poorer team may move there.
10. Will Canberra have a team in the AFL? They sort of already have the Giants. Won't get another one.
11. Will Northern Territory have a team in the AFL? No.
12. Will the AFL still be playing games in New Zealand? Definitely.
13. Will the AFL look to upgrade Docklands Stadium after just taking over ownership? Yes.
14. Will Fremantle and West Coast be playing out of a 80,000 seat stadium in Perth? A bigger stadium, yes, but not that big.
15. Will the COLA still exist? No, but they'll probably still have a retention bonus of some sort.
16. How high will the salary cap be? No idea.
17. Predict the top 4 in 2022: Collingwood, Essendon, GWS, Melbourne
18. Will there be a national reserves competition? No.
19. Will the International Rules series with Ireland still exist? Yes.
20. Will the AFL have a form of rep football? If so, what kind? They will have tried something out by then, but it will have also probably been scrapped before 2022.
21. Will Aussie rules be the dominant code in NSW and/or QLD? Not quite, but it'll be much bigger than it is now.
22. Will Buddy be completing the ninth year of his contract with the Swans? Definitely not.

Answer questions below. Feel free to add your own in if you like.

1. Will Fremantle have won a premiership? Think it'll happen next year, could have 2 by then.
2. Will Gold Coast have won a premiership? I think at least one, a massive rivalry with GWS.
3. Will GWS have won a premiership? Read Q2.
4. Will GWS exist? Yes, the AFL won't let them fold in 10 years.
5. Will North Melbourne exist? Ofcourse they will, maybe not in Melbourne? they will though.
6. Will the Western Bulldogs exist? Read North.
7. Will the Melbourne Demons exist? Read North.
8. Will Port Adelaide exist? Yes they will, next powerhouse.
9. Will Tasmania have a team in the AFL? If a Vic team moves then yes.
10. Will Canberra have a team in the AFL? No.
11. Will Northern Territory have a team in the AFL? No.
12. Will the AFL still be playing games in New Zealand? Yes, just don't over do it or they will get bored.
13. Will the AFL look to upgrade Docklands Stadium after just taking over ownership? Knock it down and re-start new.
14. Will Fremantle and West Coast be playing out of a 80,000 seat stadium in Perth? Yes, it's being planned isn't it?
15. Will the COLA still exist? No.
16. How high will the salary cap be? $12,000,000
17. Predict the top 4 in 2022 GWS, GC, Geelong, Carlton ;)
18. Will there be a national reserves competition? Yes.
19. Will the International Rules series with Ireland still exist? Yes, different question, will the players actually give a **** when they play?
20. Will the AFL have a form of rep football? If so, what kind? Vic's v WA v SA v the rest. Round Robin each year and top 2 play on the MCG in the final.
21. Will Aussie rules be the dominant code in NSW and/or QLD? No, will be a long time before that happens.
22. Will Buddy be completing the ninth year of his contract with the Swans? Retired, or just sitting outside the 22 but still getting paid.

Will any teams change jumper design/colours? IMO Yes (GC)
Of current players, who will be a Hall of Famer inducted in 2022 (don't say Judd or Black, they'll be in by then)?

If you go back in time 9 years, you could see the kernels of what would happen over the next decade. Geelong was up and coming, played in finals, but just couldn't get over the line. Sydney had beaten Port Adelaide the year before. West Coast was coming. St. Kilda pushed Port Adelaide in the preliminary final.

So, to that end...

1. Will Fremantle have won a premiership? Yes. But if they don't win next year, it will be at the back end of the nine year period.
2. Will Gold Coast have won a premiership? Yes. Ablett, O'Meara and Martin are too good not to snag at least one premiership.
3. Will GWS have won a premiership? No. Can't breed a winning culture with the Brisbane Bears/Sydney Swans deathly pallor hanging over the club.
4. Will GWS exist? Yes, but you wouldn't know it. The AFL won't let them die because they can't afford to admit the mistake.
5. Will North Melbourne exist? Yes, and they would have won a premiership in that time frame.
6. Will the Western Bulldogs exist? Yes. Will probably play finals again in 2016.
7. Will the Melbourne Demons exist? Not as they currently are. After Roos fails, the club will be rebranded in 2016.
8. Will Port Adelaide exist? Yes. Not going to rate possible achievements to eliminate bias.
9. Will Tasmania have a team in the AFL? No. Never will. Not enough of a population base with television rights to justify it. However, they will be included in a second tier reserve competition.
10. Will Canberra have a team in the AFL? No. See Tasmania.
11. Will Northern Territory have a team in the AFL? No. See Tasmania.
12. Will the AFL still be playing games in New Zealand? No. The novelty factor will wear off quickly with the Kiwis, who would want to support their own team.
13. Will the AFL look to upgrade Docklands Stadium after just taking over ownership? If they can GWS, yes. So no.
14. Will Fremantle and West Coast be playing out of a 80,000 seat stadium in Perth? No. Both clubs realize that demand should always exceed supply in order to generate continued interest and maintain profit margins.
15. Will the COLA still exist? No. Will be phased out as soon as GWS salary cap and list concessions disappear.
16. How high will the salary cap be? Linked to the television rights as a percentage, negotiated by the AFLPA. So who knows?
17. Predict the top 4 in 2022 - Nine years is a long time, but as I said, you can sort of see a trend at the start of each 'decade'. So I'll go Gold Coast, Port Adelaide, Richmond, North Melbourne. Each of those four teams has enough young talent with elite qualities to see them through.
18. Will there be a national reserves competition? Yes. As I said, will include teams from Tasmania, Northern Territory and Canberra.
19. Will the International Rules series with Ireland still exist? Yes, but in a diminished capacity.
20. Will the AFL have a form of rep football? If so, what kind? No.
21. Will Aussie rules be the dominant code in NSW and/or QLD? No, and it never will. Rugby is a cultural thing in those states.
22. Will Buddy be completing the ninth year of his contract with the Swans? Will go down with a career ending injury in his fifth year, sending the Swans crashing to the bottom of the ladder and becoming a feeder team to other clubs when players realize they can get better money elsewhere due to the Franklin contract eating up the salary cap. The AFL, desperate to give GWS breathing room in the Sydney market, won't bail the Swans out. And all the so called 'Bloods' fans will jump ship as soon as the going gets tough. But they won't go to GWS as the AFL hopes.

21. Will Aussie rules be the dominant code in NSW and/or QLD? 50/50
22. Will Buddy be completing the ninth year of his contract with the Swans? Retired after 5.

It would definitely be an easier transition than just creating a new team, and you also have some existing fans for the team too. I'm not too familiar with Alice Springs honestly, during the AFL season would the conditions be more taxing than Darwin? You reckon they get 10-11 home games split between the two though. Darwin is very taxing, I know because the Dogs are up there every year, so you wouldn't be playing too many in Darwin you would think.

Could be a "Northern" team and play a token game in Cairns too to absorb FNQLD.
