Lance Franklin
Lance Franklin is a giant of the game. The star Sydney Swans forward has played 300 AFL games, won two premierships with Hawthorn, is the seventh-greatest goal-kicker in VFL/AFL history, is one of just five men with eight All Australian blazers and is the most recent player to have kicked 100 goals in a season. The Western Australian is also one of just two players in the game’s history, along with former Swan and Saint Tony Lockett, to have booted 300 goals for two clubs. Franklin was added to a leadership group for the first time in his career ahead of season 2020, joining co-captains Josh Kennedy, Luke Parker and Dane Rampe, as well as Callum Mills. But the 33-year-old, who was named captain of the 2018 All Australian team, has long been considered an exceptional unofficial leader, so great is his impact on Will Hayward, Nick Blakey, Ben Ronke and the rest of Sydney’s young forwards.

Lance Franklin
DOB: 30 January 1987
DEBUT: 2005
DRAFT: #5, 2004 National Draft
RECRUITED FROM: Dowerin (WA)/Perth (WAFL)/Hawthorn

Will he make it into the team though? Has missed quite a lot of football this year...
Riewoldt as Coleman medal winner will be full forward, maybe Lance CHF or HF?

He'll be battling Ben Brown for the CHF role, who has had a great year. And I wouldn't be surprised if they chucked one of Gawn or Grundy in the forward line, because both are very deserving of making the cut.

Providing Gawn and Grundy both make the team, which they should, then one of them would be on the interchange. I think Brown will get the CHF and they'll put Gunston in as well.

I would've thought Bruest from the Hawks, but Gunston is a very good player too. Do you see a position there for Buddy at all then?

Gunston- Didn’t realise they gave out AA’s for kicking tin arse goals out the back...

Gunston has been superb all year either down in defense or up forward.

I have him on the intercange, he pretty much played as a swingman all year.

When it's difficult to decide & split two players that are very close for the AA team, the selectors apply the Victorian Fairytale Loophole.

Gunston should get the gig.

If Ben Brown gets AA ahead of Buddy that's complete madness.

He's played 4 less games but when you look at their totals, Buddy is still ahead in:

Disposals
Marks
Tackles
Inside 50s (almost triple)
Goal Assists
Effective Disposals
Contested marks
Marks Inside 50
Metres gained

I say it with humour mixed with a bit of truth. He would be very handy at the swans, no doubt. having said that, he is a Great footballer with elite skills, polish, game nous and a absolute tin arse.
Hahaha. Touche.

That's a pretty compelling case right there. Based on that, you'd think that Ben Brown is probably battling for the FF rather than CHF position. Rightly or wrongly, that always seems to go to the Coleman winner, so maybe Brown misses out? He'd be pretty stiff though.
