i find it incredible that he's apparently been playing in the '2nds' team in the match sim stuff. while I'm happy with the acquisitions of Howe and Shiels, I'll be pretty disappointed if Tom's not in our round 1 side and those other two guys are.
When he's been playing 2's, he's been up against Simpkin, LDU, Cunnington and Phillips in the middle. Howe and Shiels have been more wing/hb.

Do you play him as a genuine mid or wing?

Howe and Shiels have different strengths and roles in the team. I think Powell plays his best footy in the centre square in which I doubt we'll see too much of him this year in there.

Shiels and Howe are set to play on the wings and whilst Powell seems like a good winger on the surface the role of the wing over the years has changed and the coaching group has recognised it and now adapting to it.

I reckon he's going to be a big unit in a few years as well. Seems to be putting on genuinely lean mass. I've coached my fair share of skinny kids before and I reckon he has the body type to really pile on some muscle.

My bet is he'll end up looking like Scott Thompson from Adelaide.
Hell yeah brother

He's better off playing against those guys imo, especially Cunners and LDU because he'll be challenged.

If he's good enough he will play. I rekn we wait and see - if he's second or third mid rotation (I'd probably have him second), it's probably better he plays in the '2nds' team to get full mid minutes in preseason.

i would love to know what the coaches really think about him. like almost everyone else on here, i think hes clearly an elite prospect. i cant shake the feeling he is still on the outer for whatever reason.
