Honestly he hits his head against the post and falls sick the week after and looks like a genuine plodder now.

Where’s that flair and aggression gone man?
Hasn’t seemed the same since he hit his head thats for sure.

Played a bit of a meh game again.
Paul played a lot out of the middle in the preseason, I for one wouldn’t mind him getting some centre bounces to try and get into the game, even at the detriment of the team.
as he’s too good a player to be doing this pointless running weekly, he just needs get get his hands on the pill and involved in the game more, his DE is quite good, strong as an ox and compete in there, it’s just confidence.

Simply not mentally switched on.

Focus not there and kicks the wrong side of the ball.

The absolute headcases we have in this team.

1st quarter he gets the ball at CHF on the break and then tries to boot the pants off it with multiple players free but ends up scrubbing it along the ground to Mahoney, who tries to pick up the ball but just has to throw himself on to the ground cause it's all just so difficult so sort of just heaves it up in the vicinity of Stepho who gets duly taken across the boundary line like he's being escorted to the high school formal. Yeah, that was good s*** champagne NMFC football right there I nearly came truly.

2nd year blues?
I dont know if he is on the decline, and fwiw he is so close to being a grade but he just has a few small things to address,

this year he is likely playing to a few more instructions than his first year and possibly it's taking him a little while to adjust, defensive running patterns for example.

Iam not privvy to his junior pathway but i will take a punt ( no pun intended) he still has a litte bit of work to do such as mastering a set shot drop punt for example.

What i am seeing is he is building his core strength which may put him in a position like tippas where he could be extremely hard to tackle which is a nice trait for a fwd. He has shown he knows where the goals are which puts him in a different league than mahony and turner.

He is one of the blokes on our list i are the least worried with, by the time we are contending i reckon he will be cherry ripe.

Wish a had the same confidence re phillips (pace and tank) and comden (potential to be taylor garner 2.0)

This weeks effort was three times as good as last week. It included two fend-off’s + a much greater degree of difficulty finish. Our best goal since Boomer’s “five possies in one effort” against WB way back.
