Well, he’s still training apparently..

Season isn’t over. With everything we’ve seen, does it really surprise anyone that he’s going to try and crack back into the lineup with a possible finals campaign on the horizon?

Well it means if the retirement rumours are true then it will be “at the end of the season” not “I’m retiring effective immediately” which we’ve seen before

Hooker doesn’t seem the like the “effective immediately” type anyway.

Damn that would have made a mess, they're bloody solid.
Was lucky I could drive around it. All it’s mates were on the median strip but this one ****er was just having a waddle down the middle of the street, walking away from me so didn’t see or hear me coming apparently, didn’t even flinch when I drove around it (thankfully the road was wide enough and empty enough that I could do that, might’ve been waiting a while otherwise).

Maybe it was just having a gander.

I'll get my hat.

Player / coach role on reduced terms, interesting....

Essendon veteran Cale Hooker is weighing up a big call on his future after talks with the Bombers about his options for next season. The Bombers are interested in keeping him on the list and have considered a few different scenarios where Hooker could continue on at the club next season in a playing and coaching role for 2022. Hooker, 32, has held informal discussions about his options for next season but is yet to receive any formal offers from the club. But there is an understanding if he plays on next season in a dual playing and coaching role it will be on significantly-reduced terms.

What’s his personal situation?

I only ask because “significantly reduced terms” is a hell of a lot easier when you’re only feeding your own mouth.

No kids on the way or the horizon?

'significantly reduced terms' in AFL land is still well above what the average player is likely to earn in the work force.

Sure, maybe for us regular, non afl wage earning plebs. Personally I'd love to accept a "significantly reduced" afl wage and something tells me it'd be enough to feed plenty of mouths
