Well played, Hooksy. Your heart, tenacity, courage, leadership, humility, sense of humour and good grace, and your loyalty illuminated the path for the club, your team mates and nuffies like us. I'll be forever proud that you were / are one of ours. Hopefully we get to see you loitering around the playing group for a season or two, schooling both the forwards and defenders.

You were one of the best. Congratulations on a fine career.
 
Outside of the amazing moments on the field (including numerous match-winning goals), I think it's also worth remember that (if I recall correctly), he was the first of the banned players to re-sign and commit to the club long-term at a time when the whole world was crying mass exodus. Make no mistake, I think that was a huge show of faith, particularly when he had a juicy contract with Freo to go home and I reckon it started a snowball effect that may have flipped a few of the other guys back with him too.

This is what I will forever remember and admire about Cale. Also when he ruffled the North players hair. And his goal celebrations. And his passion for competing. And for being loyal.

Thank you Cale you are an Essendon legend.

This bloke has been immense for our club, the first to sign back on after the saga when he could have rightfully said **** off. Refused to answer calls so he couldn't be traded. The passion he shows on the field, he's the epitome of what a clubman is and will be sorely missed.

I honestly can't express how devo I am right now.
