This is my visualization of the RCD fanboys in the future patiently waiting for him to become the player they talked him up to be. I guess now we can safely say that there are zero excuses left for spudsy and the inevitable delisting will come as no team will be dumb enough to even offload pick 90odd for him. Whatever salary increase the club stupidly gave him will come in handy for paying Rowell or Tom Green or whoever we land, basically anyone who deserves it. My faith in 1st round selections at Punt Rd is shot time to offload them and poach genuine guns in their early 20's.

Interesting point you make

Dimma on 360 mentioned when asked about young players , Players like Dow & RCD have really only played 16 vfl games since being drafted
due to covid and other interruptions .

No doubt our draftees have had stunted development during covid.

Slow burn with these guys. Ross, RCD, Dow I’d keep persisting with. What choice do we have? Cotch, Dusty, Shedda and Lambo can’t go on forever.

It’ll be a mix of the former and the draftees since that’ll replace them.

I personally believe all these players will be kept on for 2023 unless they request a trade
Its been a strange 3 years and training, development have suffered

We are seeing signs from some players improving with continuity and regular games and if some of these players do come through tey will now have mature bodies and good training blocks behind them. 2023 could be a anything year

The ability to burst from stoppages ain’t as common as fake blondes with fake boobs .
Those with that ability do take longer to do it more often .
RCD should be playing AFL inside the square he ain’t learning nothing at VFL level and is merely going backwards whilst he is trying to be turned into an outside skirt.

THis..showed enough to persist with, yet we keep on playing week in and week out players with no ceiling and no form.

I tend to agree with the above statement.

We suck at clearances, especially centre bounces. RCD strength is clearances. Won 8 in VFL last game. So many of our mids out, he has to play the next two weeks against GC and North, then see if he is worth keeping for Fremantle and beyond.

Even with a full mid list, our mids have lost us games this year. Also played some great games, but still behind the top team’s mids. We seem to have the ability to just lose centre clearances very badly in short patches, which allows teams to score 2-3 goals in short bursts. We don’t stop bleeding/control tempo when this happens. Maybe RCD is that extra string we need in the mid dynamic to bridge that gap in finals.

Do I have any real idea if he will make, no. Am I going mostly ( a part from his clearance stats) on the fact we have put 3 plus years of work and list spot into him, yes.

Again, Richmond's one wood is rebound incursions, not clearances or stoppages.
We pounce on erratic clearances and rebound.
We create erratic clearances.
Pressure and containment based footy.
Sure, Dimma says they would like to increase clearance KPIs.
However, our successes in 2017, 2019 and 2020 were based on superlative rebound defences.
In other words, cannot see Riley thriving at Punt Road.

And then the AFL bought in their equalisation measures / aka new rules . We have lost games this season as a result of oppositions sides dominance in clearances .

That gameplan was more due to the coaches creating a gameplan around the types of players we had at our disposal, similar to the small forward line, we didn’t have any clearance beasts apart from Cotch plus we used one undersized solo ruck in Nank,
But we had a strong group of intercept players so the game plan was catered around those factors as our list evolves so does the gameplan to suit

4 years on and can’t get a game with a decimated side on the park.
I haven’t seen a whole lot of him at VFL level but unfortunately when I have there’s not much to be enthused about.
Gotta love when "supporters" come on to pot a bloke when he didn't even get to play on the weekend due to a bye
