I thought GWS would take him, then Geelong, then the reality set in it was a chance. Amazing

Agree. Also our safe pick was last year in jack higgens.

Previous years we always went went the safe pick. Sometimes coming off and not like ellis, cellis.

First time we went ‘non safe’ for a first pick since maybe rioli.

He has met his biological father (a family friend apparantely who donated sperm).
It's a nice story and a happy one. Hopefully in the years down the track we won't even be talking about this situation.

I saw the pic of the mums and him, and thought what is teh situation here? Then moved on. Maybe its cause i was too lazy to look into it, maybe it's cause well, dont care.

The two traits I love and will quickly build respect is he doesn’t flinch in his attack on the footy and has those steel trap hands when handling the footy

Depending how much you believe in KM's work we killed it again.

Sort of drafting for dummies. Pick the best player available, especially first round. So the last couple of years we have got a player we rated around pick 10 for much less. Can't complain.
 
Watching his highlights the things that make me very happy are not that he has nice skills and good athleticism. It's that he attacked a contested ball at speed as he expected to get it and then to burst through 2 opposition players, and that he looked very deep when he kicked. You can see that he knows that he can tear through players and can kick it over the oppo defensive structure to a player well positioned. As he grows into his body and gains strength, size and endurance those traits will allow him to increase his impact.

Some draftees are very skillful etc, but they don't attack the game the way he does. So much to work with. Very happy.
 
This kid is going to be the best of the draft. Someone on here said they wish he had some mongrel to him; wtf are you on about? He attacks the ball better than anyone in the draft, very similar to the way grimes attacks it! His tackles are ferocious. His burst to get past players is second to none.

A few kilos on him and a couple pre seasons to get his endurance up, and he’ll be top 20 within a few years.

I have no idea how the **** he slid so much
