If we are serious about giving these kids a chance like we are crying out for we need to ride the punches and give them a chance to respond and grow as players

Apparently a lot of our best players run PB's, but we looked soft imo physically.

I don't see it with him. I think there's a distinct lack of football IQ and skills required to be a modern effective AFL midfielder.

There is nothing to lose this season so by all means give him games and opportunity.

But I am not as hyped as some by his preseason performance. He was okay at best. He's a 5th year mid who hasn't even been tearing up the VFL in previous years. The odds are stacked against him based off this.

No not at all surprised.

Not racking up the ball in the VFL was a huge red flag for his prospects of becoming a decent AFL mid.

Even borderline prospects who struggle to crack best 22 at most clubs dominate VFL footy

Disappointing game but I think we need to stick with him in there for 3-4 weeks to at least give him the opportunity. Not sure who was coming up with the matchups at the centre bounces but putting him on Rowell was really really dumb, he's obviously not going to match him for strength in there.

He's from the same draft as Rowell and Anderson so his contemporaries basically pulled his pants down. Obviously they were picks 1 & 2 but he's still a 1st rounder. I reckon it was him crying to Laura Kane to hide players weights as he's f@cken embarrassed that 18 yo speculative pick Kane Mcaulliffe makes him look like Mr Bean in comparison. FMD Mon Conti would've put up more of a fight than him today. WTF it was at Punt Rd that hyped him up all off-season should be embarrassed. Ross should NEVER EVER be selected after Dow again.

Played crap in a side that played crap. Pushed aside by Rowell a few times. Big deal, it’s a great education.

It wasn’t just the fact he was pushed around …. His positioning around the centre stoppages was awful. He just stood on the wrong side of the stoppage and left a huge gap for Rowell to run into
