I still find it bloody hard to believe that it costs us 200,000 dollars plus (or whatever revenue is made plus more) to host a game at AAMI stadium.

And this game surely cost about 3 or 400 thousand as well!

Insane.

Hmm I would assume more than that :)

After the weekend I'm with others, A.O stay the same, Govt keep their $$$$ we play there stand alone Crows keep AAMI with the SANFL.....

I will dance on their graves (metaphorically speaking) when it does and then forget the lot of them, as they so richly deserve.

I think I will *actually* locate and dance on their graves, sniveling little turds that they are :thumbsu:

Leigh Whicker will soon be on 5CC ... wait for the nuff-nuffs to ask the tough questions over who made money last Sunday?:rolleyes:

Crowie hinted at one-ff costs?

* buy new goalposts
* painting
* signage
* traffic management
* extra staff inc security
* pay out to some for no game at AAMI ... ? advertising or maybe Whicker's caterers? :rolleyes:

Don't you just love the Trolls and there comments on the Adelaide Now site - some goose is trying to say that most (not some) of the crowd where not Port supporters - I must be more colour blind and deaf than my wife thinks...

It is BS that we cannot make a profit from a game that was jam packed in all areas except the SACA/AAMI members. I hate the SANFL and this new Thomas character has a long way to go to earn my respect and belief that he is there for the betterment of our club.

Leigh Whicker = Don Fanucci, Godfather 2

Young man, I hear you and your friends are stealing goods. But you don't even send a dress to my house. No respect! You know I've got three daughters. This is my neighborhood. You and your friends should show me some respect. You should let me wet my beak a little. I hear you and your friends cleared $600 each. Give me $200 each, for your own protection. And I'll forget the insult. You young punks have to learn to respect a man like me! Otherwise the cops will come to your house. And your family will be ruined. Of course, if I'm wrong about how much you stole, I'll take a little less. And by less, I only mean - a hundred bucks less. Now don't refuse me. Understand, paisan? Understand, paisan?... Tell your friends I don't want a lot. Just enough to wet my beak. Don't be afraid to tell them!

LOL.....so bloody true

Leigh wicker on 5AA went on about how great a PR exzercise the game was and the attendance etc etc

... said 'break even' on game costs ... thought Port made $ from their activity on day????

... extra costs were electronic singage and payout corporate partners from AAMI and $20k for posts (each? ). Crowie asked tough question "did SACA make coin?' Leight said ask them ... that was it!!!!!???? :thumbsdown:

Beers at $7.50 = someone made $:rolleyes:

$20,000 for the goal posts Whicker ?? Riiiiiiiiiight :rolleyes:
Hand-tooled from ivory for the occasion, and burnt afterwards to save storage costs. Or on reflection perhaps they could have used the ones they always use when footy games are played there?

If noone made money on probably 100,000 small cups of West End ****ing Draught at $7.50 a pop then its ludicruous.

$20k for the goal posts? Did they laser etch in gold every name thats played on Adelaide Oval before?

Is there no end to Whicker's leeching?
Goal posts?? So, the ones that were there weren't acceptable? Made from the wrong materials?

How much went into Whicker's own retirement fund?
:rolleyes:

One other thing Whicker said was that SAFC (SA Football commission) were taking the risk in moving the game ... what I took from that and so did CRowie was that if there was say a $60k loss Port wouldnt be billed d for it, SAFC would wear it

... so, I'm thinking on the other side then if there was a profit SAFC took it and declared 'break even'?

,,, all this proves is a new deal in 2014 will need some hard negotiating and likely ANdY D's help.

The only thing that made sense was that the corporates needed to be compensated for the move.

Whicker avoided directly answering the questions though didn't he ? Jerk.

yep and all the hot air that Rowe was saying be4 the interview that he will find out who made money ... well, that didnt happen? :rolleyes:

At least we can look forward to the Cows paying their $10k share to us when they play their trial match there next year.:rolleyes:

good lord.

where were you when the 'oh shit we might have to cancel it' conversations were had. It's an AFL game, they MUST have AFL goal posts that meet the AFL's criteria, i.e the enormous height difference.

They should have just moved the AAMI ones as surely the cost of the posts is factored into an SMA cost and not an individual club(s) cost. You'd be wanting to see the recipt and submit that at tax time.

presumably that was to move it. The SANFL doesn't own that sign. The Crows and Port got together to buy that, they paid for it entirely themselves so they could make better sponsor dollars.

thats crap if SANFL took any of it. I was kinda shocked it was there when I saw it then remembered that it can actually be configured into a big TV screen if they want. It's an impressive thing.
