He looks ready in photos but the kid is tiny compared to our other mids.
Will walks in with all the first year players and does a PB deadlift of 100kg, high fives all round, as he put up the best numbers out of all the kids..
two weeks later when all the older boys get in, he lines up next to Cunners who deadlifts 240kg with a sore back and benches 130kg for a warm up, he slowly backs away to see LDU warming up squatting 160kg...
moral of the story, he’s still a kid, patience.

Pure mids always take time. Very few exceptions

so true, if you’re backing a NM kid to win the rising star it would be P.Spicer. As he can play his natural elusive game from the get go..

Lazzro is the one. I’m not sold on Spicer getting much of a run tbh. Can’t see him getting a game in our forward line unless he rips the vfl apart. Turner is so far ahead of him it’s not funny.

From what I've seen of Phillips, not getting picked for the first practice match will hurt but just make him even more determined.

He's going to have to bide his time because he has Cunnington, Anderson, LDU, Jy and Dumont in front of him and 4 of them are inside mids.

I think Noble is saying that if you want a game this year he'll have to knock the lights out in the midfield or adapt to a new position with occasional runs on the ball or play VFL.

That is of course he's not injured, because you can forget all of the above wish wash if he is missing due to injury.

Either way, I can't lose.

Bigfooty 101 right there

I assume you're making those numbers up (though I get your point). I'd be amazed if Phillips could only deadlift 100 kegs.
