Ideally Battle is fit to play and Long gets his ban overturned with his appeal tonight, that would mean we only need to pick one other player to come in.
This.

If that is the case bring in Marsh and see if he can be a Mason Cox mk II

if long is suspended bring in savage

if battle is unfit bring In another small. Back Wilkie and Howard to stop the twin towers.

great news if Battle can play and is fit. Reckon Marsh to CHB, Battle to CHF and were looking good. Or they could god Robbo to CHB based on what the club has been saying.

If Long doesn't get in his appeal think Savage or Webster, but they have mentioned Robbo is right in the mix. I'd prefer to take a risk with JWeb myself

Looking at our best players now at other clubs from that era doesn't say much about him.

This was his highlight for 2018 as a reminder, Coffield would have more highlights in a quarter.

With respect, you've lost the plot Gringo.

Jweb was comfortably in our top 10 players, and around top 5 when firing, and yes he's fragile, but he was also Richo'd to a large extent.

Since he's contracted for another 2 years you'd best make peace with it. Personally I'd be more than happy to see him take Hunter's vacated HB spot next year, and I sincerely hope he does.

Adam Pattison was drafted during 2004, the Saints picked him with a late pick in 2009, then the Hawks picked him during the 2011 Rookie draft, knowing exactly what he was.
Those Hawks were so dumb , they'll never amount to anything in the decade after 2011.

Meanwhile during the 000's Stkilda had Rix for backup, and bugger all for front up.
We were just lucky Blake was better at it than Acres.
(And Hawks were lucky Skipper was ok at it ).

Abbott's game for the Saints is his worst AFL game ever. Maybe this crap season is something to do with it, something that has also stifled the development of young players like Bell and Alabakis.

Seems that other times he's played he's got at least some of the ball, and clunked a few marks.

If we had a full squad, and our rucks went down, i'd probably prefer to try to create something, possibly using Battle and Jake in the back line and Howard in the ruck. But we don't.

If Marshall were to go down now, i can't see that we'd have any alternative.
Yes he'd be smacked if he was up against Grundy or Nicnat.

Completely agree with this - didnt want to turn it into a big JWeb V Coff/ Savage debate

potentially a couple of backline small to mid defender spots up for grabs next year with Clark getting more midfield time and Gears playing there less. Below looks pretty good to me, just really hope we re-sign Carlisle!!

Coff, Carlilse JWeb
Wilkie / Robbo, Howard, Long

I used to be a big wrap for Webster myself and same for robbo but given both are coming back from loooooong injury layoffs I’m not sure bringing them in would be wise.
And why is hunter vacating HB? I must’ve missed that memo.

i think playing Abbot could actually be a good thing.
Starting ruck against Nank. compare their averages, quite simular.(yes i know not reliable) however if we could use him to Negate Nank and attempt to hurt them with Marshall when Nank goes to the bench(move Abbott to bench as well)?

Would sure up our forward line with Membery/King/Marshall.

Move Battle down back to replace Carlisle, a proven player back there who should be able to run with Riewoldt.

We were a terrible side when Webster was considered to be in our ten best players, Nate Brown and DMac had top ten finishes in the B&F too in that time.

Webster has played some good footy but does tend to kick erratically like Savage at times, I'd like to see him play some serious VFL minutes before coming into the side.

do you remember what was said?

It was a very long and no holds barred attack on Gerard, giving him a whack for his opinion on the Bulldogs - who the hell was he to even have an opinion considering he never played the game etc. and also a few below the belt hits about his personality. Was pretty funny actually and Gerard obviously saw the funny side of it.

Them going too tall probably helps us due to the speed we move the ball with.

If we can get it to ground, we will have an advantage.

We'd probably need to bring in Marsh or Roberton if they Bring in Choi.
Either should be able to handle him and we wouldn't really lose any rebound, but question marks against Roberton.

He read it right before the news break and you could hear him trying to contain his laughter as he read it out. I love it when he gets really passionate text messages and reads them out with such feeling and emotion. Not many others do that - more trying to rush through them and get out the message with no expression whatsoever.

We should be fine with Howard, Wilkie and Battle, if he plays.

I doubt they could play all of Riewoldt, Lynch, Chol and Dusty up forward at once - leaves them with zero forward pressure so we would be able to walk the ball out at will.
