Ha ha - Chooklotto under way - the Tribunal makes its finding and declares "a whiplash effect" as part of its reasoning for finding Long guilty (not raised by the AFL prosecution) but then Saints aren't allowed to present a Biomechanics expert to refute that assertion as part of an appeal.

If I allow myself to comment too much upon the blatant ineptitude, double standards, and inconsistency of the tribunal, I will close the thread down on my own. So this is all I am going to say...and I want you all to imagine a huge fan splattering it all over those sitting at the panel adjudicating this utter farce.
One word: BULLSHIT.

Jack Rush isn’t just any QC. He served as a Supreme Court judge for a couple years before returning to the bar. Also provided legal advice to the AFL on range of football matters. He’s basically excelled in all aspects of his professional life.

If this bloke isn’t getting Long off, no one is.

Yeah with Michael Christian, experts would over load his brain. Better to just say it simply to that dim wit. Something like "he didn't cop the campaigner in the nut hard. campaigner walked away so he wasn't f’ed up after it" problem works better with him.

I liken it to work in a way, I've taken a few of the newbies in for product training to basically say "this is a vacuum, these are proprietary things, things we do differently, at its core; it sucks."

You gotta know your audience and what language to use to convey the message. Likely as soon as we went "this is the rule and this is wrong" in so many words v Gleesons "GOD HAS A LAP, LOOKIT!" Michael went with lowest common denominator.

All QCs regularly return to the bar, biggest bunch of pissheads on earth apart from footy journalists. ;)

Tom Morris reporting we’ve already failed at the appeal? Isn’t it still live?

so in other words they made a decision it wouldn’t be overturned before tonight?

This is such a simple case it’s frustrating even I could argue for Long without any experience of being a lawyer.

Wasn’t injured means it can’t be medium impact. The tribunal is therefore unreasonable with their findings.
Done.

We also have this ridiculous non allowance. This whiplash thing is ridiculous.
Absolute amateur hour.

St Kilda's attempt to have a biomechanics expert appear before the panel has been rejected. The Saints are now attempting to argue the case without that new evidence being called upon.

Gleeson: Long had momentum. Macrae's head snaps back because there is clearly more than 'glancing contact'.

Seriously? He’s spitting the exact same dribble. Maybe his head “snapped back” because he was “playing for a free kick” something Macrae does a lot more than the average AFL player
Love to 'snap back' this kents head. flipping tosspot

One word “Corrupt”.

AFL is judge jury and executioner. Whatever they say goes

Long is just unfortunate he isnt a big enough name to stop this ridiculousness from happening.

And that they decided on Monday to start suspending people based off hypothetical situations.

I was listening to a preview of the game that featured David King and one of the main things he wants to see in this game is whether Dan Butler has it in him to actually chase and tackle Richmond defenders rather than just running at speed towards the goal square.

Now we know King doesnt always do his research but someone should tell him that Butler was the number 1 forward 50 pressure player this year by over 30% and easily led the comp in forward 50 tackles. Seems to me that he is capable is running both ways.
bu.. bu.. but they could have just gotten Gresham at 5?? Right?

If it's so clear; Please point on Macrae where the bad man hurt him.

EDIT: AFL tonight saying it's failed. Media circus going strong.

Would hate to think the outcome of this was predetermined and the press ran with it before it was over, by accident.

Wow Gleeson semi contradicting his argument with a millimeter either way could’ve had a different result. No shit, that’s sport.

How is Gleeson even a QC?
