Hind bursting from the back

Watch the start of this video. I think Hind could be the run and carry player.
That is VFL which is so much slower and there is acres of space, I don't think he's quite good enough to play half back in the AFL… would be worth a look next year though in a less important game as I could be completely wrong.

Battle, Sav and Marsh in is as good as we could have hoped for to be honest. Sounds like that’s going to be the go.

I’m hoping Battle straight to CHB for the Riewoldt match up. Carlisle to Battle isn’t losing much, if anything imo.

Sav for Long isn’t a bad replacement. Logical next in line (could make arguments for Webster but Sav at least has played this year and been fit for the whole season whereas Web hasn’t got a game and been injury interrupted). Sav also was best 22 prior to this year consistently while Web has dealt with continuous injury issues.

Marsh for Ryder is obviously a loss, no one can fill the hole left by Paddy. The good news is Marsh did a great job on Grimes and kicked a goal early in the season against the Tigers.

Understand it's only VFL but it was in a semi final against Richmond who have been pretty dominant in the VFL.

I get Byron Pickett vibes with Longy not many on our list like him - I’d argue Steele has similar attack on the ball/man

Steele has Lenny tough where he goes hard at the ball, Longy has a mean streak that wants to hurt the man as well. Not many human wrecking balls left in the game any more. I think that's why the AFL are so keen to screw him over, they worry about his malicious streak and what he could do.

Parker did a few run downs last year that were hard but not at Long levels. My brother in law still bleats about how Parker smashed Simmo into the turf than smashed his face into the ground.

The most like for like replacement for long is Webster and by some margin. Is he ready though for a final. I’d robbo than savage. Not sure just getting it and kicking it works against the best system side in the afl
Ideal world I'd prefer Robbo, but with his time out, it'd be a big risk. He could be a completely different player to what he used to be. Certainly looked that way in round one, albeit one game is too small a sample size to know.

Agree with the AFL trying to eradicate Long type players from the game

I like Parker shame he didn’t get much of a go - Hind could play a few bad ones - Parker didn’t seem to get the same leeway

I hope we keep him for another year

Well we certainly know after one game savage is playing the same. I think savage will probably play but I’d really love Webster to.

I’d love it for the simple fact Jimmy won’t bomb it but just too much of a risk - if he breaks down early because of the intensity major egg on face lol

I’d be pulling Marsh aside and really telling him to take this opportunity, make each Tiger player that runs past you feel it.

If we’re honest is probably isn’t getting much of the ball so go and make a name for yourself in your first final and show some fight and aggression.

They are keen to give him suspensions not screw him over because in 2 cases he has hit another player in the head when both times he had other options. One was to go for the ball and the other was to tackle. He chose neither both times which is his right but he loses his right when he gets them in the head. He needs to learn from this because it’s no good for him or the side.

Still suspect Battle and Marsh both go forward. Battle to replace Geary and Marsh to replace Marshall. Geary back, Savage replaces Long.

Battle, Marsh, King & Membrey is too tall. Geary looks to have found his spot as a defensive forward. He’s not quick enough to play on some of the quicker small forwards these days. I reckon he will line up against Short or Houli.
