Feel like he sometimes bites off a bit more than he can chew. Occasionally he pulls it off and it looks incredible but yesterday it just wasn't working.

Dropped again. Sadly, I think he will be playing for another AFL club next season.
Yet Baguley & Myers don't need to earn their spots. Very disappointed in the club's handling of young players.
Must be something he’s doing the coaches don’t like. I’m a Parish fan, think he has plenty of room for improvement but definitely unlucky. A couple more years and he’ll be a star in my opinion. He needs continuity in the senior side. I’d have Parish over Myers. More than 10 years on the list and has had one better than average year (last year) and the rest below par - injuries or not.

Very stiff the young fella. Hope he hangs around but wouldn't blame him if he left. One of the only players on our list with that campaigner spirit in him too. You need those in a good side. Sheesh.

Needs to get injured constantly. That way he can get picked when available and doesn't have to perform at a super high level, just do enough to suggest you might come on, get injured and rinse repeat.

In no time you'll be part of the senior core with 50 games over 10 years and then you are automatically picked as you are now senior core. Easiest way to eek out a long career at Essendon as you are more valued when injured then when plying your trade and getting to the 50+ game mark as an inconsistent youngster.

Would you swap him for Brayden Sier? probably worth about a pick in the 20's

I don't say this with glee, but Parish is discussed as though he has not had opportunities. How has his game improved in 18 months? His trajectory is going in the wrong direction.

Surely there is a difference between playing a kid for the sake of it and playing a kid because he will or can make you a better side.

Parish does not do enough with his 20 midfield possessions. The reason that Guelfi could not be dropped is because he adds a physical presence and used the ball well.

If you can advise how Baguley keeps his spot ahead of Parish I'm all ears.

Parish, Smith, McGrath can all play forward and rotate through the middle with all having better forward nous and pressuring ability than Baguley.

Not saying he hasn’t had opportunities but he is only 21 with 50-something games. I believe at 23-24 with 100-something games, you’ll see a far better AFL player.

Just my feeling.

Keeping a seat warm for Laverde or Begley.
I don't disagree, but I'd prefer to give Parish a bit of continuity. If he does well then it creates competition for spots.

I have nothing against Bags, he's been a loyal foot soldier who gives his all every game, but the game has passed him by and I don't understand his continued selection.

That sounds fair en...

Never mind.

BTW, Guelfi has 5 more clangers, 3 more tunrovers and 12 LESS effective disposals than Parish has in the same amount of games this year - ball use isnt the reason Guelfi is still in the side.

Did Darcy run over your cat or something?

I'm not the one that has been dropping him.

His VFL matches said it all last year as far as I'm concerned. Nothing separates Parish from a player like Mynott, nothing other than reputation. Mynott doesn't play so there is no reason why Parish should.

The comment about Guelfi related to his last game. You'll get no argument from me about his first 3.

As for Laverde and Begley, I was responding to a post asking for what I think is happening.

But if the disappointing progression of Laverde's career is a reason to play Parish, then sure.

And for the record, yes, I would absolutely back Laverde's VFL games to transfer to the AFL. Problem for Parish is that he is transferring his VFL games to the AFL.
