He had an excellent Anzac Day game a few years ago and AA year but what has he done for us lately? Dudes going be 27 next year and wants a 6 year 650k deal lol

Why is it that that other teams don’t tag him? Because his not damaging with his disposal and many big bodied midfielders can just run through the bloke.

I’d rather use the money and get a Sam Powell-Pepper type player. I want bulls that can tackle

We should be ordering him to walk like North are with McKay. Symbolic of everything wrong with the club. Looks flashy but achieves nothing.
We'd end up with pick 11 or so depending on where things land.
Probably not the best outcome.
Still a top shelf player and our list ain't particularly great. Would rather keep or trade to dees for freo's first.

FA for Darcy became an issue for me when we best the eagles. Was a bit stupid in the end

everything has value at the right price. Totally cool with Parish resigning, god knows we are in no position to wishaway one of our top performers each week heading into their prime.

Just no 6 year lucrative deals please.

And while we are at it, actually surround him with complimentary players might help also.

Merrett
Ridley
Langford - 50 goals this year all aus squad - our best forward
Redman - our best attacking half back - without him we are screwed
Parish

Ok so he's here to stay. Question is now, what do we do with the midfield to make it better/work?

I don't mind Parish and have been of the view that we should either trade him for capital and rebalance the midfield/list, or get players around him that cover his weaknesses and maximise his strengths. I'm worried this means we are going to do neither.

I don't know that players drastically improve after 150 games, so I'm not holding my breath for him to suddenly come out next season with excellent footskills and a killer defensive intent. I think he is what he is, which is a very good footballer with some glaring flaws.

I think you answered your own question tbh. The sooner that is found and added into our midfield mix, we can let Parish etc. focus on what he does well.

So he stays so what do we need to do . Get hold of a big strong clearance player as well so when needed we have a change up and sides do not just sit on Parish at clearance to nullify him .

We need to clone Setterfield.

So who falls out of the midfield to make room for a big strong clearance player? And how do we get the trade/draft capital to make this happen? Parish was the guy to trade (if we wanted to go down that route) because he could have given us that capital, I'm not sure who else (outside of Merrett who is an absolute untouchable) gives us the option?

Well I have been saying shop Parish around longer than anyone.
Fact is he will stay so someone else does fall out.
As for how do you get another clearance player. That is what they have to work out going forward.
I am into finding solutions. Parish is staying. We need a solution so we are not doing the same again.
