Definitely. I didn't expect him to leave, and from what I've heard he's enjoying his life as a Bomber.

Heard he's also sick of getting injured too, but of course that could just be a rumour from the media? ;)

Great news, he'll be a good player for us for many years once he gets his body right. He's still young which is an added bonus.
I had no idea he was 199cm tall!

Jeez for a moment there you had me worried I thought it said resigned.

Good to see that Essendon want Gumby. He will be a force in a couple of years and will be the key player in our next premiership.

I hope he has a speedy recovery and can get some good form going so he can make an impact in the 2nd half of 08 in the seniors.

That's fantastic news. He has signed till 2010, the year that the Gold Coast team has access to uncontracted players? Surely they couldn't poach him.

Re: 3. Scott Gumbleton

In the latest edition of the "Bomber Magazine" Gumby is asked, in the section "Mad Minute," if he ran a factory what would it produce. His answer: "Hamstrings." It's good to see the young bloke can stay positive when he has had such bad luck with his hammys.

I took that as something that's really sad. A kid in his second year, highly touted, and in a 1 minute interview, he mentions his hamstring injuries twice.

Best news all weekend

Great news, Lets see if he can break the record for most tweaked hammys in a career. I know its not his fault but im getting really fed up. Time to get rid of that conditioning coach John Quinn as in previous years we have had last quarter fade outs all the way back to 2001-02 now the last few season essendon have either had so many soft tissue injuries and last year where easily the most unfit team in the comp. John Quinn has served his time now its time to move on. Lets hope this big kid gumby gets on the field and becomes a champion but if he pulls a few more hammys he will be another wasted draft pick.:( fingers crossed

I hear you mate we are all frustrated but the kid is still growing and developing. I think once his body gets to the level where its strong he will be allright. About being the most unfit i agree and also lazy and dumb as well. I dont think john quinn is at fault, there must be others behind the scenes and the football department.

jesus ____ing christ we have some chicken littles who support our club.

Give the guy a ____ing break! He's a 2nd year player who's still growing for ____s sake. What did you expect? You want him to be Carey circa 99 in his 2nd year?

Some of the attitudes around here disgust me. You can really see the calibre of the poster when the losses start to mount

Re: 3. Scott Gumbleton

jeez this kid is promising according to an interveiw with knights on sen he is almost 200cm now and run princess park in a tick over 11 minutes, apparently chris judd did it in 10 minutes 30 seconds.

Re: 3. Scott Gumbleton

At least hes making light of it

The sense I got from it is that it's really playing on his mind a lot.

I hope that's not the case.

It sounds like he loves Melbourne and loves his footy, so that's good at least.
