The history was from memory a very convoluted backstory in giving Sam Powell-Pepper the nickname Roller which had many tenuous links at best. Was so bad it became the meme. Probably in most new player threads since then, it has been revived.

We kinda nicknamed Zerk-Thathcer (Margaret) in a similar way except the link was obvious. And despite that, some people didn't like it so we also named other players Margaret.

He will do well at Port if they play him as the second tall defenders. His only crap games for us where against brutes and GWS when the midfield did not turn up .

Just to push against the trend of people only posting on these ex players threads to shit on the list management team:

100% made the right call to let BZT go. Mckay and duursma are two key cogs in our improvements this year.
BZT is an OK player but he's the sort of C-B grade player we used to overrate internally and hang on to for too long.

Counterpoint: he'd be defensively an excellent partner to McKay. I love Duursma and having him on a wing has released Duz into the middle (which is awesome) but he's a good AFL level key defender which we lack.

Laverde struggles as a proper key defender. Reid is never fit, Hayes hasn't played yet and Cox looks more likely to be a forward than back.
