Na we have found very few rookies or more to the point junior rookies. since the inception of the rookie draft.
WE must have had 50 - 80 rookie picks over the yrs and you can count on one hand the good ones and all of them have been mature pick ups.
Don't think that's the case in recent years.

yep Foley 18yo in 2003 and King 23yo in 2007 were our best players rookied by the club, but it's been nearly ten years since we've picked up a possible 100 plus gamer from a non AFL side background.A lot of blokes on here had dreams on Luke Conca when he first got a gig which tells us how dire the situation has been.I don't rate Lambert, but as our team is so poor he is a chance to survive a 100 games.sigh if he does.

Conca is another player that could be really important to our depth next year. What's holding him back? I think he is a see ball/get ball type of player with good run and foot skills that has been cruelled by injures. I'd love to see him make it but there is so many other midfielders in front of him atm it's hard to see that happening.

Why would we do two years???? The bloke has shown nothing for the past three, yet we give him two more. Yes, he;s been injured, but he gets injured again next season we carry his money for two years. Nonsense. Doesn't disguise the fact we tried to shop him around and NO ONE was interested.

Without knowing the finer details it's hard to say, would hope it's not much coin up front and lots of incentive bonuses.

Won't be on much coin....

"Reece has had a tough run with injuries, but we are confident his best football is still ahead of him," talent manager Richardson said.

"He will complete a full pre-season and we expect him to go into season 2017 fit and available to play in round one.

"Reece has always remained positive, given his injury setbacks, and works tirelessly to get the most out of himself on and off the field."

In summary: "We shopped him around, but no one was interested in him," said Dan Richardson.

You'd hope so or it was not much of a career.... The fact we shopped him around and there was little interest should have helped us put him on a pretty basic contract in terms of money. Might help him have less money to spend on food...could get fit

Welcome back Reece

Hope your lasagna-strings hold up this year so you can show your abilities

why?? because we need him to up his value and resurrect his career and get us a second rounder next year, instead of going into the PSD ;)
