Love Conca, but where does he play when he comes back in?

the only spots available are in the forward line, and he is not a forward. But another mid in the rotation means Lids doesnt need to be in the guts ever again and can be a permanent forward, and Red Dog is not seen again.

the only other persons spot he can take around the ground is Newmans. Would that happen? I'd Doubt it.

Conca only adds class and skill to our team. Although, we would be able to get a pretty awesome trade for him....

Probably not. History of recurring hamstring issues, and he wasn't exactly fast before injuries either. Would only be worth a pick in the early 30's now. Not worth it imo. Only 22 so still has a chance to build up his trade value. Can't see a spot in our side for him if McDonough, Lennon, Menadue and C.Ellis secure a spot.

He played a little footy last year but was average as it took him a while to get over his injuries, will take a while again, missed this year and a chunk of last year, people need to be further patient, great to see him out there and IMO when fully fit at his full powers in best 10-15, but it could take him til early 2016 to get the fitness and continuity to get back to that level IMO, patience.... Go get em Reecey!

Leave him in the VFL until he starts ripping it up. Reece can be a good B grade AFL mid. And adds inside toughness and defensive strength to the team. If he really gets going then he adds outside dash and goals. I am hoping just to see him come back and play a decent role by the end of the year. He will add to our AFL team a lot even just being at par and not top line for his ability.

Same goes for Knights. If he can get back to AFL form then I'm very happy. I'm not expecting, or even hoping for, his top line form.

I'm an ordinary bloke like most Australians , but I'm not paid big bucks by the RFC to play afl football just like most Australians aren't . Nobody cares about Reece's personal life. It's more his professional football life
This what is pear shaped ATM and his other habits outside football seem to take precedence. Watch the video of when he was reported last year for his dog act it told me two things
1 mind not right and not on the job
2 studying his body it reminded me of Garfield

Love the guy, but he's at the crossroads as we e picked up some good kids this year and if we do again next year with a couple of FA then he may struggle to get a gig
This is the realty not the smoke screen we get on forums of how great he is at cuddling team mates

Sort of reminds me of Sam Mitchell. Couple of recent dog acts and if you go back and watch him over the years, you would see plenty more. He is in good nick now but wasn't always..... Also pretty much pissed off all of his team-mates with his leading style.

So perhaps there is still a chance for Concs....

Maybe in all his other rehabs, he's stayed grog free and done every little thing right.... but he still got re-injured. Maybe now he's taking a different tact....

Or maybe he is just genuinely not prepared to put in the work to make it in the AFL. Maybe we gave him games too easily as a youngster... maybe he is a reason we aren't seeing much of Lennon, McDonough or Miles early days. Maybe they are really trying to make the younger players get hungry, really hungry. We don't really know.

I don't know and most others don't either.... I'll just keep hoping he makes it until we trade him, delist him or he makes it....

Conca will be fine in that regards
I don't believe he has any serious addictions and definitely not drinking
I just would like him to be more professional in his approach to his football
Who knows he may well be , but has a poor way of showing it
It's weird he can balloon weight and drop it so quickly
ATM he looks great again:cool:
Some dudes on here think I have gone over the top with him but as I've often stated I just want him to be more professional like a BEllis type bc a lot of kids could have gone passed him

No, I'm with you on this one... I think if he'd been fitter over the journey he wouldn't have been so injured (a hunch, not based on anything). He could be a jet.... just keep fingers crossed. At worst, he'll provide far more than Newy, Gordo, Lambert etc when he comes into the team in the next few weeks....

Are you sure its not the reverse and he can't get fitter because he's been injured so often?

He's in our best 15 when fit. Best comment in this thread.
He's a two way runner, avid tackler and can play inside and out. He's another good cog in a building midfield and is versatile enough to go forward or back and the improvement he'd bring into our side over Gordon, Morris or Newman would be immediately clear.
I can't wait for him to get back he's one of our more interesting players.

Hamstring injuries usually happen as a result of overload.... which may mean they were overloaded with too much weight/gain of muscle....

Now it's tougher for him.... but he should be doing swimming, cross training, whatever it takes to get that fitness up prior to increasing his running load.... which he may well have been doing now but I doubt it was the case earlier....

Yep definitely still got a lot of time for him. Probably our best defensive mid in terms of defensive pressure and two way running, and has moments where he just shines through with a classy bit of play. Just needs an uninterrupted run at it, might not ever be an a grader but to me could still be a very good b grade mid, and every team needs those.

Was at the game against the borough last week, was moving great, had a really good game then as well, handy in to come back
