He monstered Mumford with the maggots having to resort to giving him frees because it was so unfair that he was being physically monstered.
I got to admit I chuckled for a few good seconds at Mumford getting an in the back free in the ruck go his way. The umpires paid some really soft and just plain weird frees yesterday.

Only just got in round one. Got a game round two when Goldy pulled out. Was talk he may not get a game round three. What a joke. We need to stop underselling form in the twos in preference to 'experience'. Form is king. Who else do we have waiting in the wings?
EVW is a big one..kid SHOULD be playing!

I love that he's already developing a reputation as a big bastard who's looking to hurt opponents physically, combined with the fact he's seen as a Rugby League convert capable of standing up to physical crap which comes back his way. Will be an enforcer in years to come and, as acknowledged by the Geelong and GWS coaches, is already seen as a very good ruckman.

That kick from outside 50. **** me he has got so much confidence in a side that is lacking. I never expected a player playing his third game to do the Corey Mckernan whenever he wants. Dat shit comes from 100 game players.

TBH if I went up against Preuss in a contest I'd shit myself as well. The guy is a bull. Mumford didn't want to go near him!

Need to play him without Goldstein there, give him more freedom. Build his tank since we aren't looking for a finals spot. Do it now before the opportunity expires. Goldstein needs to be 100% otherwise.

Im going to play devil's advocate, he didn't mean to kick that goal. He was trying to centre it to Goldstein 20 metres out. No way he was thinking "I'll have a ping from 60 out on an angle, off one step." He flushed it and the breeze swung it through.

Great kick and amazing to see what he can do but I doubt it was intentional.

Too old unfortunately, not eligible

D:

Since we created him in a lab only 3 years ago, surely as a three year old he fits the criteria.

I think we should start a petition for Frank

Yep we all know Goldy is capable of coming back and destroying the opposition but i agree get him right we have that luxury now.

But the improvement in Pruess from a few JTL games and three rounds in is remarkable. One of the shining lights so far this year.

Well I guess it was probably accidental in that sense. But the fact that he shrugged it off like it was nothing makes it look like he might've thought 50/50 about having a go.

No doubt he has talent. Hopefully we persist. Scotts has no reason, absolutely no reason, to drop him.

He's also very quick to react to quick plays along the wing and doesn't hesitate to look towards the middle. Ensures the player receiving it will have a very high chance of receiving the pill in the best optimal position. He is building the qualities of Goldy quicker than expected. A very huge plus to the side along with Williams.

Bugbear: the 'poor skills because not a natural footballer' narrative that I heard addendumed to several comments yesterday, including by Nicky Dal. Nothing I've seen shows me that his skills are ordinary, and certainly not by ruck standards.

Agreed. And his body positioning in a marking contest is excellent. Granted he is much bigger than his opponents but the way he uses his frame to his advantage is seasoned.

He can't be dropped given he is probably our only fully fit tall in the team. Brown, Daw, Goldstein, Waite all dealing with injury at the moment and it is really showing

And to think ruckman aren't supposed to hit their straps till mid 20's.
I read in here last year people talking about him and his VFL form.
And have heard by the club how hard he has worked on his game.

Credit to him an ex Rugby player playing AFL for what five years and working hard to improve himself to were he is now.

i know its only 3 games so there are sample size issues but just comparing Sandilands' first 2 seasons - 2003 and 2004 - to get a picture of how big Pruess is tracking and Pruess's averages are very comparable. i don't have game by game stats (someone might) but it is really extraordinary for any 21 year old 206cm ruck man to have the game he had yesterday against a quality mature ruck - let alone a guy who took up the game late. Early days of course but his game yesterday was extraordinary by any measure.
