least houli and grigg can get the ball 8 disposals in 4 qtrs of football with 7 mins left in the first half he didn't even have a disposals not good enough
 
time's up, trade to carlspoon for a first rounder as he is still better than any outside mid they got and move on

Actually your wrong , when FJ joined the club, clubs who below us on the ladder have since gone on and won many flags.
The rebuild attempt when the franchise's came about was due to previously failed attempts.
Martin was taken in 2009 , eight years ago and from then till Rioli ( when arguably others took the reins ) the cupboard is bare in regards to midfielders or KPP from first round picks. All are failures or flanker.
It leaves a massive gap in the squad and is the reason that Reiwoldt, Rance , Cotchin and Martin aren't already premiership players.

was not going to reply but what the hell.

B Ellis epitimises all that has been wrong with this club and all that continues to be wrong.
Some love him others hate him i will leave it at that.

C Eliis to date is a fail, thts undeniable. As you want to put the focus on what he may become all i can say is who knows he may become a good player, unlike you i dont have a crystal ball to peer into that tells me he is going to be a goodun. so i focus on what hes actually done so far not so great eh.

Fj has been horrid no ifs or buts about it.
Fmd thats just the first round where your supposed to find the high quality players go look at the other rounds it has been scary bad and people want to be revisionists.
What is amasing is the bloke still has a role within the club.

I reckon it's too simplistic too just lay the blame with fj for lack of finals wins. He has had 3 really good drafts - 06, 07, 09 some very poor draft 05,08, 2013 and some fairly even ones. Lack of ability to pick good talls and the sort of values the club has had eg the kicking mantra has seen certain styles of players favoured and others neglected - not just through the draft but also trades

He's one of the major reason and Blair you're right with Dan cannot hide. You still need to nail picks.

But at some point you have to determine if a professional is actually good at their job or not. The job being difficult is not really relevant. With enough of a body of work, which we definitely have with FJ, it is possible to analyse performance.

Of course, everyone will have differing views of what is acceptable and what isn't, which is a whole heap of other fun, but you can't remove the need for selected players to be good from a recruiter's performance assessment.
