Idk about that.
I felt that he competed really well for about 3 qtrs and then faded as fatigue set in.
We’ve got to remember there was no ‘easing’ Samson in when Nank and Soldo were both out. He had to adapt to the rigours of AFL footy without any seasoned support.

He had to step up last year when Nank and Soldo were injured early in the season and wasnt too bad early, then looked to get tired midseason and fell away. He only has to improve a little on the early season form to be servicable. I assume Kosi will play over him round 1 though anyway if everyone is fit.

looked good though before he got tired understandable another pre-season and I reckon we will see big improvements.

I know.Its not as if both(Soldo & Ryan) are household names unless your a Tiger supporter.Odd really if you think that the CEO should come across at all occasions as representing all clubs.

he actually has the body and size required, he just needs to learn how to use it. And sadly, that mostly only comes with experience on the field.

Not quite all the tools, be nice if he could develop a bit of a leap in the ruck to get above the opposing ruckman who like to cannon into him because he's a bit willowy. Even Soldo developed a jump so here's hoping, because that to me is his biggest weakness. Don't expect him to be the next Paddy Rider but he gets bruised and battered because he doesn't get off the ground much.

I think he's going to surprize many people here. He does have all the attributes to be one of the best ruckmen in the league. He has the leap, the mark, set shot kick from outside 50, the mongrel and the smarts. The only thing's he is lacking is things he can get from development, age and want - size, strength and endurance. He actually does run from contest to contest and have a good endurance base but he can't play out a season as our number one ruck just yet. Our number two ruckman/resting forward - you bet ya. He's going to be a weapon and probably kick more goals than young Kozi early on.

Give it a year on two and Ryan will be a star!

Yes when he is running and marking, he's not unatheletic, but rucking he doesn't have the strength of confidence or both to leap into his opponent. Usually tries to outmanoeuvre them and use his reach. Something to work on. Nank would work him over like Jo Frazier. But he's still young and will be better next year.

Curb our collective over eager expectations...S.R. is doing all the little things well that you mentioned...just needs to fill that body out some more and to strengthen his core!
Do not want to flog this young colt into injury territory ala Gibcus!
Give it all a year or two...building nicely...I think so!
We do have a good'un here...pinched right out from under the Bears noses!
