Wonder how Pink plans to get himself into the side next year. Is there any way for him to break through beyond depth? I thought he genuinely looked passable as the third tall for a short patch in the middle.
he will get some games after we rack up some injuries or through form i suspect, basically depth for now.

Good back up if needed and can play at both ends

Nice problem for a journeyman to have, and I mean that with no criticism.
If he’s smart, and I have heard he is, he is putting in plans for life after football with the support, and time, he has.

Seems like a good guy and someone invested in getting the best out of himself. Was really pleased for him taking some opportunities this year. But if we’re fair dinkum, we’re moving past Toby pretty quickly from here (bar injuries or a marked and sustained uptick in his form). He’s not best 22 in many sides, and hopefully that includes us going forward with the other cards we now have in the deck. I wish him well; was a pickup that helped and played a role at the time, but ideally we’re moving onto a next level for the club now.

If Comben plays forward I think he will get a game as the third tall early in the year next to Corr and Logue
Jesus. I'd play Kallan Dawson a million times before Toby. Would even give Wil a go before him.

Toby has value in that we can slot him in at either end if there's an injury crisis, but we really should be looking further afield. His skills are very much VFL/AFL borderline. His application and intelligence are AFL level, but so were Jack Mahony's

Unless he really makes a wholesale improvement this summary is pretty fair,

Worthwhile injury cover depth player with considerable versitility. But on exposed form wouldn't want him to be a starting 22 player.

Honestly I just think that he’s already maxed out his on field output. He’s never going to be a star, and never going to be an AFL standard player but he filled a stop gap for us this year when we had a team full of 18y/os running around. He’s been rewarded with a second year due to a clause in his contract but realistically if he’s playing seniors this year we haven’t improved at all.

He'll play more than you expect. We will be playing Xerri + either 5 or 6 other talls and we only have 5 at AFL standard - Corr, Larkey, Darling, Chom and Logue. After that Will Dawson will likely play if fit, but if we have any injuries it's really only Pink and Kal Dawson before we step right down to Teakle or possibly Maley. Pink is more likely to get games than Kal because he is more versatile - he can play at both ends and on bigger opponents.

He’ll be first delisted at years end

And should be thanking his manager for convincing us to add a trigger clause in his contract

Yeah both add more but are injured. Pink may get a shot early doors as a consequence of starting the year fully fit and ready to rock and roll.
