Thanks all, hopefully he can get a good run of games in injury free. Hopefully he can turn into the star he looked like in the draft.

Can't say I'm not a tad bit nervous his injuries may derail his development.

Sounds like you are worried we will Norf him?

Can’t blame you considering our player development over the last 5+ years has been a basket case.

Whats going on with this kid? Are we expecting him to play this year? 6 touches on the weekend in the seconds

On current evidence the switch to half back doesn’t seem to be working. I was hoping he’d debut after the bye but it’s not looking likely at this stage.

Just don't understand why we're trying to turn him into a half back, play him in his natural position ffs

I think the backline's relative stability might have been a bit unexpected. It looks quite good at the moment, and we already have Logue returning soonish, Hardeman waiting for his next shot at it, Bergman making another case in time, and Goater itching to come back next year. What we don't have is appropriate pressure on guys like Stephenson in the forward line. Need to cut our losses and play Sausage as a full-time forward in the VFL.

Kind of agree. From my seat we had two concerns - backline in general post McKay and without Logue and a genuine desire to get Sheezel out of there and upfield as soon as physically possible. We may have slightly overcorrected (although early days) but not a huge issue when George more than anything just needs to get senior games into his body at any level. Forward or back, either is good at the moment.

Yeh let's just play the recovering young player adjusting to a new position who lacks conditioning and continuity.

I'll get the moaning threads fired up now for when he scores duck eggs on debut.
Said this in March when the hype was already getting silly.

He's coming from a way back. It was expectations from on here that were way out of whack.

People weren't just saying play him - they were delisting Zurhaar because Brayden had taken his spot from the exposed form of 0 games.

We certainly like to get excited by our shiny new players on this board.

Haha I remember that. Gotta take anything that poster says with a grain of salt - never seen anyone so consistently hyperbolic

Lets keep in mind where the expectations have come from.

1. Drafted as an injured "would've gone top 10-15 if he wasn't" mercurial medium forward - which we love at North.

2. After an all-time-great first season from Sheezel, and Wardlaw showing incredible signs while being managed through his hamstring/endurance issues, Viney at the Q&A said "we've got Brayden yet to come in who is internally rated as highly as those two while he might be the best of the lot".

Hyperbole notwithstanding, the excitement to get him healthy and playing in his preferred position is well deserved, imo.
