Bloke will absolutely try his guts out. Has issues around injuries and hence consistency, but would be close to the best backup in the league on exposed form when fit (depending on where you put the Ryder-Marshall, Mumford-Jacobs in the discussion). Looks a bit ungamely but can get involved in play, knows his limitations and moves well enough.

Wish him nothing but the best and was only ok with him leaving by ways of us recruiting a younger, ready ruckman in Pittonet which more career upside left.

Would not be shocked at all to see him play a large chunk of games, regardless of what Bellchambers' output is.

Honestly he's about equal to Bellchambers overall. Not quite as good at tapwork and around clearances but significantly better around the ground and second efforts etc. If we were playing Grundy week 1 I'd want him in the team rather than Bellchambers. Will they be tempted to try the dreaded double ruck strategy early in the season with so many key forwards out I could understand it.

I'd be okay with TBell at full forward and Phillips ruck as a stop gap.
...in lieu of Hooker, in lieu of Daniher :(

Did as well as expected - Think T-Bell is the better ruck.
T Bell better tap work but Phillips gets around the ground quicker and actually tackles as well.

So assuming Phillips plays round 1, is he a chance to hold TBC out of the team?
If they only go 1 ruck then yes. I suspect they may want to play two rucks at some stage so both may play.

Agree - It's a matter of how much you rate tap work.

Fantastic recruit. Obviously not the best tap ruckman, but tries all day and is very mobile for a ruckman. I'd have him in front of TBC at this stage because he offers us so much more outside of the ruck contest than TBC does. Much more suited to modern day football than TBC.

I've forgotten what it looks like to see a ruckman give second efforts. Phillips and Draper could be a seriously dynamic duo when Tommy retires to be a trophy husband to Olympia.
