If we need a new conspiracy, we could go with..... racism at it's finest? White guys banned until mid November....

I understand now why the heavens had to take Bowie back yesterday - no man can deal with this much untempered joy today without first feeling great sorrow yesterday.

I feel bad for the players, and I feel bad for those Bombers supporters who came to terms before today with what their club tried to do. Make no mistake, by the time the legal dust settles, this will be a journey into the footy wilderness that will surpass even our own.
Ashes to ashes, funk to funky....Essendon are proven junkies...

So Fletcher like Lloyd finishes his career on suspension.

I assume it's because they played in the indigenous all-stars game. Watson and Fletchers were extended because of the Irish games.

Oddly, I don't feel the sense of euphoria I expected.
On one hand , I'm ecstatic the cheats FINALLY got what they deserved.
On the other , this feels like a disgusting day for our beloved sport
I'm like Switzerland .... Neutral as ****

I feel the same to a point but I just don't like manipulating narcissists.
Unfortunate lesson to learn but lessons should be learned for all clubs.

I have Essendon supporting friends as well as knowing their Essendon supporting kids and I just can't/won't derive joy from their pain.
I don't think any of us would, should we be eye-balling those innocent parties that have just had a part of their life stripped from them this year.....and thanks to who?

You're the man James. You sure are the man.

This guy on the * Board:

Seriously guys, WE STUFFED UP.

What went on in unacceptable.

This sucks for the players, I feel for them but the only one to blame is the Essendon Football Club.

Taste the happy, Michael. Taste it.

Just as an aside and I have no reason for thinking this other than for the fact I do.

Wouldn't surprise me if Tim Watson has a very heavy heart today.
You'd imagine that Jobe would have confided in dad quite a bit through the injection process, but maybe dad had too much love and trust for Hird and steered Jobe in the wrong direction. Jobe had the chance of stopping this or at least ask some very serious questions but he didn't. They may not have meant bad but the Watsons may have made a huge error in judgement trusting Sir James.........and it will be a heavy load to carry for doing so.

Agree.

They both seem like good people, I hope the club gives them (and all others) all the support they need.

would be a tough time, especially for players that were part of the leadership group.

I get no pleasure from this result. This disgraceful saga has cast a dark shadow over our sport and Essendon should be ashamed of its behavior over the past few years.

But this is the result our sport needed. A just result. All clubs are now on notice.

Finally :)

Has a team ever gone winless in a season before? Because it wouldn't surprise me if the drug cheats don't win a game.
Imagine a team of players with nothing to win nothing to lose and almost no rules! You could play like madmen with little regard for consequences. Such a team will be a hand full initially.
