Is SOB the crafty/nippy small forward we are after or is he more of a mid that can go forward?

If the former he would be very useful and could get senior experience quite quickly - if the latter and we go with a mid with pick 1 then he will be about number 8 in line for a spot.
Reckon hes that high half forward that can hit the scoreboard

I see him working in tandem with Paul Curtis

With a strong young midfield group. Its a privilege where by you can let kids develop in the scoobs for 12 to 18 months

Looks like a slightly taller, slightly stronger Jack Mahony.

But he can’t be, because he can kick 45+.

Is any other club looking at Cooper?
If he wasn’t son of Brent where would he be landing.
I just look at Archer, Scott and Crocker and after what West Coast did to McDonald, did we pay fair value for all?
Well as far as McDonald goes, its easy to forget that he Captained Vic Metro U18, with players like Josh Kelly, and the Bont, running round.....was All Australian as an under ager, and averaged 25 touches a game for werribee in the vfl finals. Hard not to match a bid.

I didn’t ask you to justify the pick. I’m asking if we got fair value for his selection at pick 8.
Hindsight says Cripps was still on the table but it’ll be interesting to see what other highs McDonald hits.

Undoubtedly Cripps is the better relative value pick....but how do you really assign value??? ,,,,you could argue Brown was a better pick at 47! Yeah McDonald is there abouts, he has won a club BNF and in the leadership group. He's no super star but first round picks aren't always about getting the player with the most upside,,,,rather ones that are a high probability to play 100+ games of AFL football. On that basis yes McDonald absolutely is value!. Our first pick in 2013 and only player from that ND still on the list (turner a rookie), 2014 draft, no player still on our list, 2015 only Ben McKay (our 1st pick) still on our list, 2016 Jy was our fist pick, and we got lucky with Souva late, and Zurhaar via Rookie, (but again no others still on the list). 2017 our first LDU, then only Xerri and Hayden (who has been rookied) still on the list.

So in that context,,,yes McDonald was fair value, he has done absolutely everything you want from a first round selection.....I don't think its a reasonable comparison to compare to later picks who end up being outstanding value, it is not an exact science after all.

Cooper Harvey, the son of North Melbourne legend and VFL/AFL games record-holder Brent Harvey, is also firming to attract a bid from a rival club during November’s national draft.

After suffering two arm injuries in close succession during the middle of the season, Harvey has starred since returning to the field in recent weeks. He was among the best players for Assumption College in a school game before pulling out two excellent NAB League performances for the Northern Knights, booting 1.1 from 30 touches against the Jets before kicking 1.1 from 23 disposals against the Rebels.

While scouts believe Harvey still has some work to do on his aerobic capacity, they love his power at stoppages – to the point where they wouldn’t be surprised if a rival club bid on him in the first half of the draft, although it’ll more likely be in the second half.

Should Harvey find his way onto North Melbourne’s list, he’d become the sixth father-son selection in the club’s history.

The media slowly starting to build him up..

Second round pick at the moment but he’ll be Robert Harvey by the time Draft Night rolls in..
