Ross Booth had a little chat with him after the game. Said his father's West Indian and mother Australian but he was born here. Outstanding hair but average footy skills, tries very hard though and seems to have improved on the times I saw him last year.

Josh Gibson is from the Oak Charges i trained there 2 years ago when he was there. The kid had heaps of talent and was a dominant player in an ordinary side that had Stepehen Gilham as captain and also Vic Metro captain. The problem with Josh he is a kid who just doesnt work hard in fact is lazy. He played on the ball at Oak and then had to be rested in the forward pocket because hed have hand on hips puffing. Not upto AFL.

he went to my primary school he was about 4 years older then me and played school cricket with my bro for school for a few years. he could of been a cricketer

Let's pick him up in the pre season draft this year. He shows very good skill and i think he would be a really good back pocket or playing on the centre half back line, he is 20 years old. I think he would be a really good addition to our back line.

Will almost certainly be picked up in this years National draft. Will North change their policy and make use of the Rookie list this coming draft?

I think their are quite a few players at Port that I would like to see continue at Port, but could be rewarded for their good season with being rookied.

Would you like to see him at the doggies onslaught? He would be a full time player there, would not have any problems getting a game i would think... north seem to really nurse their players through until they are really ready to take league footy. I think if north pulled him up to the rookie list he would still be playing for port next year and might not see firsts footy until 2006.

When I saw him earlier in the year he wasn't too flash.

Seems to be a lot more composed and assured at this level. Would probably get picked up late in the draft.

I think he could be a really effective player for the Doggies as a running defender... Fitness would probably be the question mark, but on the TV today they said he was off to AFL camp, so I guess that will be a good test.

Would not be upset at all if he was rookie listed at North as a bit of a project player. Give him a couple of pre-season's in the weight room and in improving his fitness and we could yet make a player out of him. Has improved enormously this year.

Probably. We abstained last year because of financial circumstances, but now that we are returning to 100% of salary cap there is every chance that our financial position has improved so that we are able to put together a rookie list.

He could also be a chance of getting drafted late in the National Draft, like De Luca was last year. Perhaps use our 4th or 5th round pick on him?

He's okay. I wouldn't be suprised if someone takes a punt with him, especially in the rookie draft.

Would help him playing in a very good team (ie. Port Melbourne) though.

Edit: I should clarify, I've only see him a few times. I don't see him week in, week out like onslaught and co.
About time your mob drafted a PM player rather than a Box Hill player! ;)

I would much rather us pick up Steven Lawrence. I think it as blatently obvious that we pick him up. Great player who I think has turned the corner. He is playing with our younger guys as it is, so really, if he was going to be a bad influence then we would rather him not be playing at Port, surely.

Best on ground in the State game........I think he would add the Hamill grunt that we need.

Forget Gibson.....

How old is Lawrence? 27-29?

he is far too old, we don't want anymore wheelchairs and walking sticks packing out the club... we will have enough seniors with arch and king if he goes around again next year...

Players peak when there 27 , remember we drafted Mc Kernan at 30 last year , don't rule it out.
