Why does he seem likely to head home?

From what I've heard around the traps at the VFL. Not discussed why but a couple of clubs I have sources at have been talking to him since around June (because everyone knew he was getting delisted by then) and the impression they got was that he's likely to go home, and that those clubs were the more likely destinations.

My judgment will always be reserved as to whether this guy would have made it given the setbacks. I recall hazily that he led the league in defensive intercepts for half a year one season. Clever player.

Will never forget the chase down on the wing that lead to a Hep goal in the last quarter against the Eagles at Subi in 2013..
The world was against us and he was a massive contributor to the spirit that the boys played with that year..

popular view, but easy to say for someone who never had a chance to follow through. Look man you have more than precedence but he did not make it happen. Hears what I hope for, he gets a chance at another club and makes a career. I really hope what I've seen so far transfers into what I pray he can do!

No club is going to pick up a 26 year old who has played 22 games in 4 seasons.

It has been a long time coming, what a herculean effort by Kommer to play AFL footy, let alone just get drafted. Bloke worked tirelessy year upon year to reach the heights he did. If it wasn't for injuries, I do agree with some that he would've been one of those players who got games off defensiver pressure and effort. Which is okay, most successful teams have 1 of them

True. But if you consider how medicore the club has been in the last 10 years, you can see why.
