Bit of an enigma was Noah.

Was one who i hoped we would play him a bit more with good game time, i liked the idea of actually having a small medium forward who looked a goal kicker, rather than a forward line full of small blokes mainly there for pressure with little ability to hit the scoreboard.

I think people forget he did not debut until 2022 having been drafted in 2019 because of an acl.
He played 25 games, well in fact it was only 24 having been sub and not getting on the ground in his first game. In his 25 games he was either subbed on or subbed off seven times which obviously knocks his stats around a bit.

This debate reminds a bit of the Sonsie debate we played him in the wrong role we didn,t give him a go etc etc.
The bottom line is he got 25 games and 5 years and cfailed to establish himself. Sonsie is the same he may not have been played in his prefered role but he has been given 24 afl games to show he can consistently do what is required to make it.

At the end of the day to me the problem was he regressed after 2022 despite getting the rough end of the selection stick at times.
For sure he played some good games in 23 and 24 but when he was poor he was awful and it happened too often.
Sounds a lot like Sonsie atm.
His skill set also went backwards. Kicking in particular at times was horrid. When not getting the ball we got too little out of him in other areas. Those other areas was the thing he was asked to improve in to round his game out and he could not do it.

Anyway sml/med forward delisted end of 2024 aged 23 who just did not do enough often enough.
Did we do the right thing delisting him? I think we did.

id have him on the list over kozzie

I think there is a big need for an experienced key forward outside of Lynch on the list. So no i would not have cut Kossie to keep Noah. When a few of the young talls we have drafted in recent years take the step then Kossie can go if he fails to improve.
I reckon Kossie is just entering a stage age wise and games played where he should be right to step up a few notches.

Keeping Kossie to me means we dont need to go out and draft someone like Jack Darling.
Comparing apples to oranges anyway one is a small and one is a kpp.

I think the question should be. Would you keep him over Mansell, Rioli, Clarke, Green the smalls we kept. None appear to be consistent goal kickers and it makes for an interesting debate comparing the apples with the apples.

We did sort of replace him with young Alger and also bought in Hotton. I really think we could do with a few more like Alger in our system.
I would also love for us to find a player similar in size and goalkicking prowess to Steve Johnson.
