he could be the big midfielder that cleansweep 17 craves fordo think he is done for..
but you do have a point and could get with your thinking.

Cumbos had enough chances and the excuses are over. I backed him in and supported him in hope he would get enough games to show whether he belonged. In the end he embarrassed me with his output and needs to be delisted.
He only has himself to blame as he’s had enough coaches now and failed under all of them.
Agree if Brisbane don’t pick you then tread warily and I mentioned this in Ryan’s thread. Three absolute flops. He will join his Brisbane academy team mate Will Martyn out the door. I don't think list managers will retain him.
Add in Ryan ! ~ time to write off that Academy as a spud farm.
32 goals last ten games when moved forward after caddy went down wasn't a bad effort was it?Townsend? Our best forward?
With respect. Better than Riewoldt?
He wasn't
better than Caddy and then eventually we got Lynxh?
Different types, but Rioli was a better forward at the time, and Butler and Castagna more consistent.
Townsend got lucky and quickly faded.
He won a reserves medal as a midfielder.
Simms didn’t screw him. He quickly became ineffectual and couldn’t get a kick anywhere.
he definitley showed in a solid block of games he could do it.32 goals last ten games when moved forward after caddy went down wasn't a bad effort was it?

Reality is, whtever the reason, we no longer see it, and he's had plenty of chances.
When Cumbo plays AFL, because he is so useless at reading play, the oppo isolate their best intercept defender to him. The interceptor has pretty much free reign - Cumbo doesn't hurt on the scoreboard and is a defensive minnow.I reckon to thrive in the role he has you have to be genuinely elite, which he’s clearly not.
If he was able to run all day and rack up cheap touches on the wing and then rest forward and kick a goal or two, then great.
If he could play half forward flank and then take a rotation or two in the midfield and get a couple of contested balls, plus those couple of goals here and there, then great.
But playing “general forward” and getting 3-5 touches per game is really not that useful.
I’m hearing another year Karp3_dm
I think it's a bit the other way round. Cumbo can read the play and is often in the right situation to go for the mark but either doesn't have the confidence or is just not big enough. Hence Stewart, Ridley and others just sit back and take over, having been lead to the right spots. When Cumbo plays AFL, because he is so useless at reading play, the oppo isolate their best intercept defender to him. What about the harm to my sanity LM?Unpopular opinion but I check online each day to see if he’s been given a 1 year deal …. I see no harm in giving him one more shot especially with lots of players departing already
Haha sorry TI I wish no harm to your sanity …. Maybe take up meditation if he gets given another go?We can't have him on the list as he couldn't deliver when put to the test.
