Posted in the trade and free agency thread that Xerri isnt guaranteed the No.1 ruck role in 2024.
Glen McFarlane tweeted that we are searching for a new ruck man and then Clarko lands in Perth the same time.

The concerns:

Ruckwork: Agricultural at best.

Marking: Can barely get his hands to the ball.

Athleticism: Lacks any sort of agility, jumping ability or running power.

Ball skills: Kicking and handballing are bottom 10% at the club.

I don’t see him overcoming any of those concerns after six years of development already to get him to this point.

Another concern is the amount of times he tries to take the ball out of the ruck contest and gets caught, rather than tap it to his midfielders around him...

I am also a believer. Ten hours marking and goal-kicking practice a day over summer please.
The Maltese Falcon!
Needs to follow the regime I did with my kids. Start with catching bean bags in the backyard. Once he catches 10 in a row take a step back. Should be able to progress to a footy by late Jan.

I just thought he was holding his ground and was doing his job
I actually agree that he looked good in that game, was clearly winning the ruck, but West Coast's ruck division that day was pretty terrible. Hugh Greenwood with a little help from his mate Charlie Comben easily accounted for them for the rest of the game.

I think X can handle being #1 ruck, and a season of that will tell us how it's going to be long term. Definitely not proven either way yet.
