I'll preface this with a sincere hope that Max Gawn is OK. He's a footballer who's hard not to like.

Simon Goodwin's airing of Max's personal life in his presser was as weak as piss. Firstly, it's not for him to make such revelations in a post match press conference. I'm certain Max didn't say "Yeah coach, put that out there as an excuse for me getting beaten." Also, why offer such excuses at all? He isn't defending Max, he's possibly embarrassing him. But mostly, from a North POV - it was totally ungracious. Why not just say that Xerri is a great ruck and strong competitor who'll have many battles with Gawn and in this one X was too good.

It's maybe not a big deal, it's just irked me.

Pardon me spying in here haha but just had a Quick Look around BF about this since I’ve just seen Goodwin’s presser. Completely ridiculous from him to open up rumours to spread about his captain. Like you said, could’ve just given full credit to Xerri for the phenomenal game and for the gun player he is. Just really odd to me doing that

100% agree MM.

I thought it was embarrassing.

On the plus side hopefully it puts an even bigger chip on X's shoulder.

Was listening to the radio on trip home…Gerard Healy, Brad Johnson and another guy….said unknown guy pumping up Big X as the AA ruckman for this year and should’ve been last year….Healy on board with his dominant performance….Johnson bulked at the notion …..and when put on the spot to name a better player than x he spluttered Tom De Koning……😂😂😂 the muppet still has nightmares about us…..tool.

Other news l hear that Gawn had no idea what Goodwin was talking about….alls not well in that club.

Pretty pathetic on Goodlosses part to go with an excuse of “personal issues” as a reason Gawn (or anyone for that matter) that clearly gets beaten by a better opponent on the day.

Add to that so when Gawn was winning the ruck contest that was his skill but when he gets beaten that was apparently because he has personal issues.

I won’t wish Gawn the best because we all go through stuff and that would just deminish the others on here that could also be going though family illness, we all have issues..!

Shut the **** up Goodloss and admit your team was just beaten comprehensively by a better team on the day.

In fairness, Goodwin said they saw that last quarter coming. Which is alarming to say the least for Dees fans but yeah.

Could get less than 20k at the game against GC this week.

Brad Johnson is part of ex Scumdogs footballers and officials that have a hatred towards the NMFC going back to the 90s .
Mind you Healy saying something nice about our club he might have to see a Dr to get checked out as his had a hatred towards our club unless his woken up hatred gets you nowhere.

Well with the NMFC having a win and only getting 28k there with at least 25k being our supporters maybe need a kick in the Ar/e to attend .
With our next home game being on a Saturday night against The Swans you hope we be pushing 40K+ as their have a big supporter based here.
But with the BS excuse season underway I don’t expect our members to attend in droves.

I dunno about that. I remember a few years back BJ was tipping North and the Bulldogs to finish top of the table when nobody else rated us. He did it for a couple of years running. At that stage, he seemed very fond of us.

Channel 7 boundary commentator Erin Phillips noted that everytime both Xerri and Gawn came off, Xerri would give him a slight nudge or bump before coming off. Gawn didn't like it apparently lol.
I love it. Xerri seems to thrive on exerting his physicality upon others. One of his biggest improvements has been keeping that kind of hardliner edge mentality while reeling in the number of times the ref blows the whistle on him.

As for Gawn, I read his interview and it was pretty raw. For a bloke who always tries to bat for the club, and his mates, it sucked to hear how much it is all slowly wearing him down, and the family illness certainly wouldn't be helping with that.
