How tall is he? Certainly looks bigger the ZWilliams or Docherty.

Also how do VFL watchers rate his defensive capabilities? Could he play an accountable role at AFL level?

26yrs 186cm 86 kg
2.97 seconds 20 metre sprint

Think he has the right attributes to play an accountable role but to what type of level not sure atm, he may need a little time to acclimatise at the level, but he could surprise by adjusting quickly…

I'd describe him as a raging bull across half back. Not sure of his defensive capabilities if your referring to him as a lock down defender - but hasn't done a lot wrong at VFL level over the past few years up against AFL listed opponents. Him and Radovanovic have been our standouts in defence - and I reckon the latter may be kicking himself a little making the decision to head back to suburban footy this year - would definitely have been in the mix for the last spot.

Whether Cincotta takes the next step at AFL level only time will tell - but one thing we can look forward to is that he'll be giving 110% at every contest when he does get the call up. He's been training with the main group over summer, and hasn't looked at all out of place in match sim. And if nothing else, he's up to scratch with our defensive systems, so he's not coming in cold like poor ol' Nigel last year.

What a GREAT story of perseverance though.

Welcome to Carlton AFL Alex Cincotta....and of course he already knows that everyone looks better in navy.

Haven't seen a lot of our VFL but read avidly. Have yet to see a bad word about him at any time in any of the various VFL threads. That's a good sign.

Feels weird saying 'welcome" so I'll say congrats to him in his thread. Looking forward to him earning an opportunity.

Great attitude in his bit with the boys.

Just so happy for the guy. Been on his wagon for a while and there is something special about giving a list spot to a mature age who probably thought injuries and opportunity had ruined his dream.

Go hard Cincotta. Man that name just rolls off the tongue.

Cincotta to Silvagni to CURNOWLONI!

How Carlton.
