Deledio is no longer a Richmond Man. He left the club for success and only found failure. Now that deep-seated regret and resentment, coupled with the backlash he received from Tigers supporters from his apparent betrayal, has meant his alliances are all GWS...or anyone but Richmond.

There are not many ex-players I do not wish well but Lids is one of them. He was such a selfish player who had no time for us as supporters. Our culture turned around when he left.

He is everything that Dusty isn't. Dusty is team first in the way he plays and the way he supports others. Dusty gave his Coleman (aka Norm Smith :eekv1:) medal to a young kid after he won it. Dusty always looks to improve others around him and set others up when he has every right to go for goal himself.

Dusty will stay because Dusty is all about the club. Lids was all about himself.

Dusty gave his Coleman medal ? Am I missing something

After winning his 2017 Coleman (Norm Smith o_O ) he gifted his medal to a Emma Murray's son who had struggled with his health and who dusty had had a lot to do with as he recovered. I think the kids family returned it but I remembered hearing the story from the club and thought it epitomized the sort of person Dusty really was.

Yeah, I think he’s queried you as the Coleman Medal is for leading goal kicker for the year and it’s about the only honour Dusty hasn’t collected

I didn't know that

For me he was one of our best players but in a forgettable era.

I checked out during Wallaces' reign and it took a while for Dimmas to reel my interest back in.

Just means the name doesnt mean that much to me today.

However, former teammate Deledio has his doubts.

The 243-game Tiger sees the Martin situation as “eerily similar” to his own when he experienced soft tissue injuries late in his career before joining GWS prior to the 2017 season.

“I’m a bit skeptical on the whole thing,” Deledio told ABC Sport.

“I’m not saying that it’s not a hammy, but I’m always nervous about players when there’s a bit of noise about them leaving and whatever else, and then it’s the convenience of, ‘Oh, he’s out, but he will play if there’s finals’.

“I don’t know. I’m just hearing a bit of noise around the big fella and I’m not sure I’m convinced on everything that’s going on.”

Deledio wouldn’t be surprised if Martin were to up and leave the club even after hearing CEO Brendon Gale suggest he’s going nowhere.

“I think there’s a chance (he leaves),” he added.

“I’m just hearing some things out there. In saying that, I sat right next to Brendon Gale and he said, ‘He’s a Richmond person and he’s contracted for the next two years and (we’ll) be buggered if we’re going to be paying some of his wage for a good player like him to go and play at some other club’.

“If someone wanted to come and get him they’d have to pay a pretty hefty price in terms of draft picks and his salary, which you’d assume was back-ended.

“Don’t hang me on it, but I’m just reading the tea leaves a little bit.

“It’s a bit similar to my situation when I left. I had the calf (issues) and probably could have come back but then didn’t and then made my mind up that I was ready for a change.

“It’s just easier to sit out. We were never going to play finals, so that’s hanging over the head a little bit, but it just seems eerily similar.”

Martin, 31, is contracted with Richmond until 2024.

Just showing the leeching media will leave no stone unturned to perpetuate the Dusty leaving story.

I say this, why would Dusty want to start again at another club, when all his mates are at Richmond, he's bought up properties in Richmond, he's had success at Richmond, they are bending over backwards to look after him. Doesn't make sense to me at all.

Deledio on the other hand left when the Tigers to him were going no where and like a rat leaving a sinking ship he went to GWS thinking he could play in a winning team. Well Karma can be a b*tch, and we won 3 flags after he left, now he wants to dump on Dusty, go figure.

Can't even spell ford right.

What is going on with Lids feathers?
That's a box dye job if I ever saw one. Get it done professionally mate and you'll look less like you're having a mid-life crisis.

Also, I thought Lids was tight with Dusty at one stage. I'm sure he appreciates that his mate has kicked up the dust on speculation again after Dimma seemed to calm it down this week.
