I hope he stays and think he will, but if all the players of this era, he owes us nothing, we owe him a thousand times over. People have said to me that without Dusty we wouldn't have won our flags and it's 100% true, especially in 2020, he was the spark in yh the grand final, without him we do not win that game. If he wants to follow Dimma it's definitely not my preferred outcome but I would understand it.

The only predicament I would agree on but Dusty can go where he likes but just worried what the AFL will do to us.
If he was a Cat’s player,we would have two first round picks.

Would not be surprised at all if he leaves. Dimma is a father figure to Dusty and with his Dad gone, who was the biggest figure in his life, I think he’s more than likely to want to be around Dimma who represents a similar value to him.
So long as the club isn’t left high and dry, he can do what we wants. He doesn’t own us anything.

I don’t see any other logical reason as to why he would go to the GC.

Issue is our second rounder is still gonna be pretty high (23 or so), so the player coming back our way in the trade would want to be half decent or it won’t be worth it.
Let’s face it, we need to rebuild a bit, may as well try and fast track that whilst we still have Bolton, Balta, Taranto, Hopper, Dan Rioli, Short, in prime age.

if you could get him for pic 20-25 , there’d be 17 clubs keen ,,,that’s outrageous relative to his formline that is AA std , compare him to rozee

My guess is (1.5 mill) Dusty stays. He's still good but showing his age. I don't think the Goldie lifestyle would attract him.
They already have Miller, Rowell. King, Lukocious. Witts is leading them well and their academy is amazeballs. 3 or 4 top players this year and next. AFLW too. They just got out of salary cap issues. How could they afford Dusty
They sell out the stadium vs big Victorian clubs already. Shame we didn't play there this year, its my closest ground
Problem They don't make finals. Is Dimma gunna be the missing link? Definitely maybe. Saints & GWS have gone well with new coaches. EFC not so well.
I haven't noticed new coaches at EFC, Saints, GWS make many or any list changes. Not sure our club or Suns would wheel and deal on a expensive Dusty this year. He''ll be too old after that.

If Dusty does decide to leave, I have no issue with what he has done for the club even if I don't agree with the decision.
But we are going into a transition/rebuild phase, we are going to need senior bodies around our group, he is contracted would not be throwing him out the door cheaply, I try not to attach myself to players anymore for this reason.

What I meant is I'd be driving a hard bargain for him he is in our top 3 players & we are prepared to pay him 1.2m next season.
If Suns want him they have to give up something big.

The RFC are doing the right thing here imo...regardless if we miss out on playing Finals the last few years as a result...
Let Dusty stay as a one Club player...and accrue his 300 games...just like Shedda, Chimp and JR8...bad luck Rancey!
It's a difficult thing the Club are doing allowing the great players that have...played in and won...Three Grand Finals, for the RFC...to call time on their own playing careers! It's not an easy course of action for the Club to take...with supporters screaming for more Premierships!

Totally agree, but what would Dusty playing his last game at the Gold Coast shirt feel for us ? Gets to say goodbye to the Gold Coast supporters , it would leave a sour taste in my mouth
was it naked volleyball? that could change the outcome?
