One thing to be open about your decision and say "my time is up here, I want to finish up north", while still not a popular decision I could have lived with the honesty. But this is just poor form by all involved.

Happy to put my hand up and say I got swept up in the emotion when the news broke that he may have reached out to the Suns.

I am even happier to say that I do not need to change my avatar for the next 10+ years😍

I'm bullish; no club has lined up to rort the draft like we are about to, and usually chronic cellar dwellers who spoon and get good picks never have players with winning experience still playing so the draftees get bad habbits and bad attitudes.

I love that he told his great mate and mentor Cotchin he wasn’t going …. who told everyone he was a 1% chance … then a week later doubled down and said ‘less than 1%’. But even after that, muppets like Ox and McClure continued to say he was likely to go.

I’ll admit, watching him at his 300th I thought no way is he leaving for GC … but when a couple of weeks later when Ox was 100% certain he was gone I thought he was going - what media muppet in their right mind goes with 100% if they’re not 100%..?? Now we know.

I wouldn’t have begrudged him going to GC, but I’m glad he retires a one club Tiger legend. I’m also glad he made fools of so many media muppets who just wouldn’t let the Martin to GC story die, even in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

They thought they knew better than Cotchin … they were wrong.

Congratulations to whomever was feeding them the crumbs, whether it be Carr, Tiger teammates or friends … they’ve trolled the media for years and they fell for every morsel hook, line and sinker.

Now we look forward to hearing from Ox and MacLure. We wait….

To be fair didn't Cotch say that well after GC admitted Dusty had reached out, and that they had to 'think about it'?

Difficult to come up with a motive for GC to lie about that, for me (can you?)

Still think it's most likely Dimma and Dusty were brewing something, but GC management poured cold water on it, and then it was PR damage control.

Bit like when Sheeds was up for coaching Richmond but walked when we said he had to audition!

Maybe give it a rest with the pointless speculation, it's demeaning to Dusty and the club.

There is a far greater chance that he was never going to the Gold Coast.

Did MacLure mention it on his nightly show? Nope. Did Richo grill him on it? Nope:

That’s the major problem with media these days … no care and no responsibility. Feel free to run with rumours and guesswork all you like to boost clicks and bring attention onto yourself … but when you get found out to be wrong, man the f**k up and own it.

Who the hell cares what Jon Anderson thinks about anything? Another Geelong loving media person. I remember him saying just before one of our recent flags that he had hated Richmond ever since they beat the Cats in the 67 grand final. My god he would have been a small boy then and he still hasn’t gotten over it.

I can’t see it really happening but it would be great if Dusty did join the media just to get up Anderson’s nose. He owes them absolutely nothing and if he wants to do it well that’s his prerogative. They can all suck eggs.
