I'm happy enough with that but Jordon can't play any position but inside mid. Useless on the wing or at half forward.
Jordans a low intelligence low ceiling footballer wouldn't be surprised if we have seen the best of him already. whoever manages him needs to get on the phone with GC or Stkilda quick and try get him a contract because his career runs short.

That's still better then Sparrow who legit can't play anywhere else except inside mid and on the bench.

Jordon has better spread from the contest which again something we barely see from sparrow.

But I get that Jordon isn't much of an upgrade.

I'm big on going for another established mid during the trade period that is able to come in and take Sparrow's spot and actually make a significant impact on game day.
Sparrow can at least hoof the odd goal from 55 and is a strong mark for his size.
I wouldn't write off either based on poor/no performance in round 1; they've each shown they can fill in a role. But agree neither are high impact and their improvement has really plateaued.

Yeah he should have been trying to find another club at the end of last year. Got given games as there was literally no one else for the wing position. Got servicable stat numbers but had to know he was never getting close to this side.

We're also moving away from his style, get ball kick long. Always an assumption that every single young player improves. He won't. Hes already peaked

I personally prefer Sparrow. He's stronger over the ball, he's quicker, more powerful and has kicked some big goals. He's also a really straight kick for goal. But I do agree that I would've liked him to develop further and he hasn't progressed as much as I'd like.

And I agree, some more mids are high priority in the next draft/trade period.

Sorry but he's objectively not "useless". He was a perfectly serviceable-to-good winger last year before he got injured vs North and suffered the same fate as the rest of the team by being made to play half-fit. I don't think he'll ever be amazing, but he's not as bad with the ball as others are suggesting and guys who can run all day without spraying every kick generally last a while in the system.

He can run, everything else he absolutely sucks at tho, if he played for a different side you wouldn't even know who he is.

Of course you like Jordan, the most bland boring uninteresting player in the league.

He's not a good winger, not by any stretch, stat or metric. Hard to spray the footy when all you do is pump it down the line 55m not ever looking for a teammate.

Jordans no different to a Dan Nicholson or Jordie McKenzie but was lucky enough to be drafted to a good side not a shit one

He's just a water carrier, no place in a team with two actually good wingers, but there's not many of those around. Oskar Baker got a game on the weekend, JJ is twice the player.

This is genuinely good by your, admittedly unsophisticated, standards

As above, why did he play 20 games last year whilst we stuck anyone on the wing who wasn't Baker?

Again, I'm not saying he was an amazing player, but he was hardly Dan ****ing Nicholson. Who himself was just a shit Jayden Hunt. Was he lucky to get so many games because he was drafted by a shit side?

Didn't you spend all last year pumping up Matt Jones. He was the closest equivalent to Jordon at the MFC that I can think of, but he was shafted because he was mature age and Roos wanted a clean out. Again, despite being not much chop.

I don't think he's twice the player at all, maybe 1.1x the player at best.

Stop filling up Judd's thread with talk about create-a-player

If James Jordon is so bad, why does every player on AFL Live 2021 look and play like him? Checkmate.

Firstly Matt Jones is better than Jordan. Secondly if Jordan was a good winger why would we go hard for another winger again?

Tyson played 20 odd games on the wing in 18 and then got delisted. Playing doesn't mean your good it means our options were genuinely crap

Played his best footy when he was racking up bulk tackle numbers and kicking a few goals from half chances. Feel like he only gets a real opportunity to develop if Harmes/Sparrow get injuries or are traded.

Seems a few others gone ahead of him such as Howes anyway.

When Jordon was on the wing oppositions basically just tagged langdon out of the game and forced us up his wing as he had no real way to damage them. The lack of a second real winger was probably the main reason our ball movement was so crap last year.

He might try hard and tackle a lot but he doesn't help us win a flag, especially in that position.

They let him get it, then sat 50m down the line waiting for the kick

Because IMO Premiership teams need better than Jordon. There's a fair gap between that and "shit" though

You said he's good though, he ain't good. He's gonna be lucky to get back into our team full-time.
Serviceable player capable of some good footy. I also think he's young enough to improve some more, particularly the mental side of things like his decision making. There are plenty of serviceable-to-good players that wouldn't make a top 4 team (we've been one for 45 rounds on the fly now) but could carve out a good career elsewhere.

Blake Acres is a good comparison for Jordon. The ultimate steak knives player when he was traded to Freo, who need someone for the role with Hill going the other way. Played a good couple of years there, nothing special mind, and landed a three year deal at Carlton. Would he get a game at us, Geelong, Brisbane, Sydney etc at full strength? Nope, but he'll play til he's in his 30s.

He's got more tools in his locker than a Billy Hartung type who was a genuine liability with the ball but looked ok for a few years running up and down the wing at Hawthorn.
