Zak was quick to land at training.

Was he aware of Essendon's interest in him and possible confirmed selection of him before he was taken?

70 seems like a bit of a steal for a co-captain.
Got injured last regular season game of the year so missed finals and combine hence the slide alongside still being young not turning 18 until Christmas Eve!

Believe they had no knowledge of Essendon’s interest directly. Linked in media but none of that ever confirmed to them directly. Draft night there was no confirmation and thought was going to come down to a rookie/SSP spot most likely.

Furthermore RedmanWasHere, it sounded like he was a steal and we were going to not use pick 70 until Zak slipped. That's how I read it anyways

thanks for the info Houndude

just watched some of the (forward line) footage, seems like he's pairing nicely with kako. it mightn't be his best position (aka i have 0 frame of reference elsewhere on the ground) looks to be a hard worker and a hard runner.

Strikes me as a pure footballer. Durham-esque. These are the guys who aren't excellent at anything but great at everything. Reeks of consistency this guy. Bar Kako probably the most confident of our draftees to play 200+ games. Maybe Clarke too. Jackets was allergic to these types of players. Rosa isn't.
I quite like meat and potatoes. Nothing fancy, just down right footballer.s Ones who aren't afraid to get there hands dirty

Honestly could see Rosa going 4/5 out of these new guys hitting that 200 mark (health permitting)

Think Unwin has a real chance with his blend of speed and toughness. Could be the Dev Smith to Kako’s AMT

How often do teams select 4 200 game players from 1 draft? Would be awesome.

It's how you become a powerhouse.

Geelong had 4 x 200+ gamers from that draft (Stevie J's 295 games the only thing stopping it being 4 x 300 gamers) then another 2 x 200 gamers in 2002.

Hawks had 2 x 300 gamers, then 1 x 200 gamer in 2002, then another 3 x 200 gamers (with Roughead's 283 stopping that being 3 x 300 gamers) in 2004.

So you're saying to buckle up for multiple premierships? Nice
