So Levi has been suspended for the last week after an incident playing for the Northern Blues.

Given he has had a down year, may not be considered part of the senior core we need to keep around to help the kids, and Charlie, Harry and TDK at least, will get games ahead of him, is this the last we will see of the big Boult in Carlton colours?

He has a year left on his contract, but if another team wants him, even for free ... should we let him go?

What will/should happen? Be nice to the big lug please.

He's been a good servant. Feel it's time to let him go. Kid has tried his guts out.

Still contracted. Someone else would have to want him. Would he want to go or take a chance on bouncing back next year? Would we trade him for #135?

Ill be honest. Id be keen to pay him out. I just feel he is done. And if we have mcgovern next year there really is no space in our forward line for him imo

Has had a shocking year and may have played his last game for Carlton.

More likely than not to stay given he is contracted for 2019, but think there’s a chance we may pay him out depending on what we do via trade and free agency. Would listen to any offer that may come our way for him too.

If he does stay I’d suggest his senior chances may be few and far between.

Credit to him either way for making it this far, he’s obviously not the most talented bloke out there but he’s given it a crack and managed a reasonable career.

Will be playing for the northern blues next year unless there is a spate of injuries to our big forwards or rucks next year.

If that happens then we are doing very well. If Casboult Rowe Jones Phillips Lobbe Kerridge Wright etc all stay and if they play mostly reserves we are going well. A strong reserves will make us a much better club

Prior to his broken ribs, he was the best performing forward/ruck in the AFL.

If you meant that shocked you, then yes you are correct. If you meant he had been poor, you are not judging him fairly and based on his output this season.

Would be happy to honour his contract and know we have an AFL ready replacement for any one of Harry, Charlie or our ruckman that can’t play.

I think Levi has finally been surpassed, but I doubt he will be paid out and I prefer to keep him. There are other talls, such as Phillips, that would warrant a payout.

IF, there was interest from another club, for a late pick, then that is understandable.

Levi is a decent backup for injuries to forwards, or ruckman, I say he stays

Has a contract and very handy for a year as our key forwards are still very young. Can play ruck as well. For pure list support I think he stays another year. Be very handy in the reserves and that's important next year
Spot on :thumbsu: If we cannot trade him he stays to teach the younger guys how to kick.:D He will be very handy depth and aid our developing talls.

THIS!!!!

We don't want to get rid of these players. What we want is to exchange some of the players on the Northern Blues list with senior players of appropriate character and who can play at an appropriate level. Tom Wilson's a terrific example of the kind of leader we need at the NB, and we need to add more of them to the NB.

I'd add Graham to that list as well.

 The Phillips that beat Naitanui and kept us in it against the Eagles early in the year? The guy who beat Ryder when we pushed Port hard, and who was good enough to hold his place (at the expense of McKay) when Kreuzer returned when we went to Brisbane, which was the last time he played?

Yes, he's been out for a few weeks. Yes, he needs to get on (some) park, absolutely. But he's still only young for a big man, and he needs time. I think we should keep all the contracted talls for next year; there are no Palmers or Smedtses amongst them. Things will sort themselves out next year, during which time I am sure we will have plenty more injuries, and we can expects talls under the age of 21 to feature prominently on that list if they're playing lots of AFL. There will come a time in 2019 when we'll be glad to be able to pluck Casboult from Northern - I doubt he'll spend the whole year in the VFL.

(Unrelated: one of the many freakish things about Charlie is his ability to stay on the park, week after week, given his tender years, his style of play, and the sharply increased level of attention he gets from opposition backlines. Just another reason to be confident about how good he will be: when he fills out, opponents will not be physically able to stop him.)

Don't get me wrong, have already mentioned in another thread that I rate Phillips our best tap ruckman. Unfortunately, he has never had one season injury free. I would prefer we keep him, given he is younger than Lobbe and Kreuzer, but the planning for the future of our ruck stocks needs attention

Probably should be mentioned in the #bluemours thread, but apparently there is a deal that see's Levi and one of our second rounders going north in exchange for Brodie.

Unless something really goes wrong with the deal, Levi has apparently played his last game in Navy Blue.

Shocking may have been a bit harsh, but would be interested to know what metric you've used to come to that conclusion.

Have no problem if we keep him on for the final year of his contract, and I suspect that is what will eventuate, but we shouldn't hesitate to move him on if another club comes knocking, or if we're able to bring in a better option to play his role.

Fibula or tibia?

Edit: Seems like most media outlets are reporting tibia.

Won't make much of a difference in terms of recovery.
Howe put his knee deliberately into the side of his calf to slow him up

tibia main bone fibula is non weightbearing bone to outer side of calf...more for muscle attachment and balance

if he cracked his fib will mean it should heal ok and wont be too painful etc.....but he cant train properly i would say for a couple of months....

i am a radiographer not being brainy

Fisher needsto do weights in mean time and look bigger like dusty......they all need to hit the gym etc....
