Ridiculous take. The only thing a sickening concussion can do is smash your confidence, evidenced by his two very poor games when he came back.

He played well because he was played in his best position.
Maybe.. that’s your opinion

I think it may of made him realize how tough you have to be to play AFL and he’s gonna go all out
That’s my opinion..

Im sure there are many more opinions about why he turned it on so dramatically last night

Simple answer

He got made the allocated player to kick in and play off half back and was unmanned from what i seen

Yeah na he had some great contested wins, and some absolute risk taking bullet kicks that came off

Hadn’t seen that kind of confidence to use his weapons yet
Was super impressive

Not trying to down play his game but most of his touches were uncontested and nobody gave him any attention
still great effort to get that many kicks

Of course
You’re never gonna have 30+ contested but at least he some which was a nice surprise to see

His best games at AFL level were also at HB IMO.

Maybe thats his role and not on the wing.

Would be handy to see himself and Smith dominate HB allowing DRioli to one wing and Short to F or even better, DRioli to centre mid and Short to a wing.

100% HB is his best role. He dominated there as a junior, and the other night just showed how much more comfortable he is there compared to the wing. Problem is, the backline has finally clicked for us. Will have to bide his time!

In what world does he resemble a wingman in our system? Looks every bit the half back flanker.

Moving on. The biggest takeaway from his games so far is how clean he is. Can't recall him fumbling which is often the difference at this level. Even in his poor moments especially in his first game where he had a few kicks around the corner that ended in the lap of the opponent prior to disposing of the ball, he was clean in gathering it.

Beautiful kick of the footy (went at 100% tonight).

Definitely been the most impressive of our 2021 crop of draftees this season.

Anyone who has watched him at either level in the past two seasons would know that he plays his best footy at half back and has struggled on the wing at both grades. He was promoted after the playing VFL against Werribee were he was quiet for three quarters on the wing before he went behind the ball and in the last and immediately become one of the more damaging players on the ground.

We should be looking at either Brindley or Austin Johnson from our VFL program as MSD pick ups as both of those guys play the wing better than any prospects currently on our list. Brindley can also play key back, forward and ruck. I really think given we have two picks in the draft that he should be offered an opportunity.

Good to see some of you catching on.

Not sold on Banks yet as I need a larger sample size. I still think he’s too light on and doesn’t like a hard ball, but not writing him off yet.
Spot on ... still says away from the hard ball even at VFL level ... his best position is definitely HBF ... though I feel without running through the VFL midfield he won't develop his contest to be able to succeed at AFL level
