Howcome?

Not disagreeing; I no absolutely nothing about him, other than him looking like Rory Sloane.

No sweat. I love it because it wasn't Dayle Garlett/Brent Prismall.
Give a new kid a chance and see what happens. Love that about AFL in that it can create a new story for us all to hopefully enjoy.:thumbsu:

Just watched his highlights package. the one thing that stood out for me was his clean hands. I rate players with clean hands really highly and this kid looks the goods in that regard. Played on after a mark I50 without even thinking. Will fit in nicely at Essendon.

A new kid ?? Garlett had never played AFL and is 18 so how is he not a new kid ?

Anyway back to Hams, good kid, desperate to do whatever it takes to make it at AFL level, not a huge ball winner averaging around 17 possessions in the TAC but that can be normal with the amount of rotations sides do run now days. Goes hard, can win it inside, reasonably good hands at ground level, good work rate, team player, skills good enough although just average on the right side, long left foot kick. Like snoop said he can be prone to just kicking the ball anywhere at times which has to be sorted out.

Good pick at this range, as everyone knows i thought they should have taken the risk with Garlett as he has much more up side and i am slightly dismayed that drafting is heading towards the direction it is where the risk of a media circus and sponsor pressure has lead to drafting a certain type of player.
All i know is there where a couple of others drafted who's sins where in the same range as Garlett but their story's where not in the media as they where not regarded as top 30 picks and where not AIS squad so there stories where not part of the media spot light.

Hams is a good kid who will give 150% so he was worth a shot.

Must be a good pick, after all his highlight video shows some good play.

In all honesty I have no idea about him or any other the other new recruits (other than Goddard and JD), but look forward to seeing what they can bring to the table.

Or 'Cheese'.
Or Nick Dal Santo... (if his nickname's not pickle, it should be...)

I went to primary school with a kid named nick cheddar. Not even joking. Unfortunately I don't think he's much of an athlete though

He must've copped it. Particularly when you ran out of cheese with your Le Snac.
