The other thing that can be done with Tippa is round 1 play, then take two weeks to recover. That can be an opportunity to get a game into Mackenzie, Wanganeen, Davey or Munkara, whoever is the readiest. I'd personally like to see us rotate the lot of them through 2-3 different small forward positions this early in the year looking for the right combination, as well as giving them a taste and then sending them back to VFL to work on deficiencies that get exposed at the highest level.

Even when the VFL is on have Tippa play 60% of a game in the VFL to help mentor the kids we have.

I say play him round 1 if he is 80% fit. Still our best small forward at that level plus it is the Hawks. Then rest a week if need be.

being mentally invested is massive for Tippa. If his heart is in it he will kill it.

Been over 2 months since his return. If he had been losing a moderate amount over that time he'd have lost around 6kg at the lowest. That'd be quite a significant change. And you would assume he'd have been doing some work before his call to come back.

He's still got another 2 months to go. That could be 12kg or more.

The man's got every opportunity to slot right back in if he wants to. Time is on his side, skill was never his flaw.

Yep imo if he does 4 months of training with 2 games then were picking him

Id say most players dont do 100% preseasons anymore and they wouldnt be doing that with Tippa either

I don't think we're likely to see Munkara or J Davey at AFL level this season at all, A Davey maybe in the second half. Menzies certainly looked to have potential at AFL level, and Wanganeen is an unknown to me.

I'd say if AMT is reasonably fit to play as a Small Forward (not necessarily getting up the ground much) then he's first choice, with Menzies behind that.

Should expect to see all of those young players in the Magoos certainly for this season & most if not all of 2024 pending injuries & development.

I get the sense Alwyn Jnr might be a chance in the second half of the year depending on injuries to other forward options, he came in with a clean bill of health didn't he?

He did and he might get a taste, much like young Wanganeen did. Again it wont be a lot I'd wager
He is way more advanced than Wanganeen was.

anyone know how he's training ? under the impression that he's probably not going to make the first portion of the season but would love to hear how his fitness is going.

Is he training with everyone?

Genuinely looks to be a real shot at Round 1. Has dropped weight much quicker than I thought he would, and looks dynamic, for lack of a better word.

I'd wait until the second month of the season regardless, but he'll be good to go quicker than most thought

The weight is not an issue but the fitness base still has a way to go. Still 50/50 for round 1

Imagine the roar if he kicks the first goal of our season
