I have done many, many memorabilia auctions over the years and certificates of authenticity make me smile. Its like saying someone can forge a signature but they would never forge the certificate of authenticity.

I have two near-identical items of historic value. One was purchased officially from the club with a certificate of authenticity. The other was obtained "independently" with photographic and eyewitness evidence to prove its authenticity but without any officially sanctioned authentication. If you study both items closely, and if you acknowledge that the unofficial item is genuine (which I'm telling you is 100% true), then you might begin to question the bonafides and the integrity of the officially sanctioned item.

In other words, there's no need to even question whether a signature is forged if a genuine signature on a genuine certificate of authenticity can be attached to a dodgy product.

People forget the old end of season player BBQ event which was designed around selling off player gear (along with sausage sizzle) to fund their end of season trip. They had to shut those down because someone decided they contravened TPP / salary cap rules.

I don't see it. He should be a break glass only option.

He didn't provide 5 competitive minutes in the ruck last year. As a forward, goals aren't really important for him, just running patterns and distance covered. He needs to run his arse off to create space for his teammates, think Ben Brown's first years with Petrie. Last year he mostly stood deep forward and tried to take pack marks.

there was a guy on here not long ago with a "match-worn 1996 premiership jumper" along with a certificate of authenticity. the jumper had 5 stripes on the front and back instead of 3.
