Tbh he did make some bad errors but wasn’t the only one. Doesn’t deserve all the hate for the teams performance

It's just the nature of the position and role he plays. Look across the comp and most teams will turn and blame the rebounding half back when they have a bad loss. Scroll through some of our match-day threads and you'll see Houli still cops similar despite how much he has improved his problem areas over the last 3 years.

No doubt Egg was poor, the pressure was extremely high yesterday from Port and he's not exactly a contested player. ATM he's not ready for a game like that clearly, not to say he can't improve his awareness and contest work and be up for it in the future. He wasn't the only one who struggled with the Power's intensity, better and more experienced players also found it difficult. Assuming Bach is fit(has been training normally by himself or whoever is in quarantine with him) he'll return v the Suns at the expense of Egg.

Egg has showed signs and got a solid taste of the level. Now he needs to work on some areas.

Needs to understand the difference between ability and ambition. With experience that will come and he will stick to doing the basic stuff rather than thinking he is a game breaker and biting off too much. Also didn't like the short arm approach to a contest in the second half, which is not in line with the ethos of when it's your turn to go you go.

Spot on summary there👍 I was very critical of him after the game as he was clearly not hard enough in the contest and panicked or got caught at times! But....... Bachar was very similar at his age and he should be able to iron out these issues as he matures and gets more experience. But at this point in time, I don't think we can risk playing him in high intensity games like last night. Needs to be exposed to it somehow, but not if Houli is available.

Can we stop mentioning him with Bachar. For one Bachars reputation never really aligned with his efforts, sure there was a couple of occasions where he pulled out and can be guilty of it from time to time now but there was also plenty of times where he did go. Egg on the otherhand hasn't gone once and is embarrassing to watch. You look at someone like Bakers effort going back at the biggest bloke in the comp and then you have Egg putting one hand up with one of Ports small coming at him. While if we are also going to compare him with Bachar then we should also factor in that Bachar was incredibly hard working and dedicated to being his best. Egg goes away and comes back overweight and getting lapped. Stamped his papers yesterday.

Just can not handle high tempo footy at the moment. Always plays too relaxed which leads him to getting run down easily.

Needs more time in the seconds and hopefully one day he can adjust to high pressure afl footy.

he needs to learn and get a few more game under his belt.
miseed a lot of tackles, got caught too easy.
is probably the worst marker in the team and cannot spoil.
other than that I think he will make a good footballer.

Kinda surprised he was delisted over Alex Rance...

He didn't play the Richmond way against Port.

He didn't play his role, he tried things outside what his teammates predicted of him. What makes us strong is we are predictable as a team towards each other. Egg was chipping away sideways, taking on tacklers in the defensive 50. It was a strange game from him.

His delisting is a mixture of competition for spots and losing the trust of his teammates on the field. Do we need to persist with developmental talent when we have 4-5 others who can do the role better?
