No, we still need another half a dozen mids on the list. We only need 3 or 4 injuries and we're back to square 1.
Good quote...
people keep thinking next year Fisher,Dow,SPS,Walsh,Setters.....are going to be dominating the competition
No - need more time ,by then Murphy will have gone.....so itS a catch 22 view in hope....
Always underestimate the list strength especially engine room.......Scully/Kelly/Libba [something like this]

The thing with Will is, we finally have someone that when resting Crippa up forward he'll be the enforcer in the middle, his handballing skills and vision in traffic are Cripps like...

Can. Not. Wait!

He’s going to learn from the best in the business as well. Cripps loves to teach midfield craft, Setterfield is going to flourish under his tutelage.

Welcome Will Setterfield. Carlton a perfect place to lay your hat down and unpack your talent.

Good luck.

I wasn’t impressed with the “special assistance” package, but by throwing them in the mix we got ...

- Setterfield for a future second rounder

- McGovern for a second rounder and another second bumped to the third round.

SOS really used those picks to perfection.
We used up 3x 2nds for the of them. That's fine by me.

Just looking at responses to skinny's very positive tweet about trading setters on twitter , hadnt realised that so many dic.heads comment on twitter , real carlton haters , guessing facebook attracts the same types

Beautiful free form

14 first rounders from the last 5 drafts. With this talent (and others like Fisher), you wonder where a player like Walsh would sit, what impact would he make and when.

Cripps (13)
Lang (16)
Pickett (4)
Marchbank (6)
Garlett (15)
Weitering (1)
McKay (10)
Curnow (12)
Kennedy (13)
Cuningham (23)
Setterfield (5)
SPS (6)
Dow (3)
O’Brien (10)
SOS has certainly gone about fixing up the holes in our list left by his predecessor/s. In 4 years' time they will all be in the 22-28 age group. It's scary.

Why lump them together? At any rate, if you want to tie everything together, we have taken a big hit in our chance to draft quality depth if you consider the fact that we also extinguished the equivalent of a PP, which we arguably deserved, and we already traded out our third rounder last year.

Our depth is horrendous and as it stands, if you consider the draft is no deeper than 9 players (maximum) in two years for each club, we've extinguished too many shots out of those 9 chances already in landing just three players, if you take Walsh to Carlton for pick one as a given, as many have. Forget Fasolo for the time being as it's hard to place him at the moment. Are we going to pick up substandard midfielders (being so single minded) with picks in the 70s, who are just destined for the chopping block in two years before they have even fired a shot? A club is more than just its very best players.

A pick 5 from 2 years ago doesn't add to our depth? How about a 24 year old gun third tall?

We tried. It’s hard to attract players when you win 2 games for the year. It’s the young guys who aren’t yet established who are more interested. Setterfield is a massive get for us if we can get him fit. Class act!
